What a wonderful day spent at the La Jolla Underwater Park & Ecological Reserve. The team was friendly and well-informed about ocean kayaking and the San Diego region. The kayaks and paddles were in excellent condition. Overall, it was a day filled with smiles and enjoyable memories.
Incredible experience overall! A big thank you to Justin and the team. I highly suggest it for anyone traveling to the area.
I had a fantastic experience kayaking with HBK alongside my friends. The staff provided outstanding guidance on where to go and what to look for. We enjoyed a wonderful winter day on the water, with visibility of 10-15 feet in some areas. The views of the cliffs and caves from the water are unparalleled, and I highly recommend this rental for anyone wishing to discover the region.
I had a fantastic experience! Our guide, Marlow, was very knowledgeable about the area, and his interesting fun facts made the tour more enjoyable. I fully trusted him to ensure we had a wonderful day, and we were lucky to have nice weather during our visit.
I went kayaking yesterday, initially planning to go with my mom, but she got scared, so I went alone. The experience was generally good, but being solo posed challenges. It was tough to keep pace with the group, and despite having a guide, I didn’t feel supported. At one point, the group and guide moved ahead, leaving me behind, which made me feel anxious as if I were alone in the sea. When I finally reached them, they started moving again, giving me no chance to rest. It would have been beneficial if the guide had checked in more frequently to ensure no one was left behind. Overall, while it was a good experience, solo kayaking was difficult. Improved support and coordination for those kayaking alone would enhance the experience significantly.
We had a fantastic time. Although my husband and I are quite elderly and not in great shape, the two guides—a lovely woman and a handsome man—ensured the experience was enjoyable and safe. The equipment provided was great.
The staff was friendly, and the process was straightforward. Unfortunately, it was not a sunny day, and we experienced seasickness from the waves.
I had a fantastic time and really enjoyed kayaking. However, my mom experienced some seasickness, which is why I rated it 4 out of 5 stars.
The staff were incredibly supportive in assisting us with our boat and teaching us the basics of paddling. As we were inexperienced kayakers, the beach employees guided us through the waves and ensured we stayed upright. They also shared tips on spots to find more fish, and we were lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle.
The booking and kayaking experience was seamless. The staff were incredibly helpful and shared great recommendations for exploring the area. I highly suggest this for anyone seeking an enjoyable activity in San Diego.
