06Half-day rafting trip on the Cangrejal River, navigating through stunning landscapes and enjoying opportunities for rock jumps into deep pools.
“We have experience with river rafting in the U.S. and overseas, including Fiji, and this experience was fantastic but slightly different from our expectations. We visited in August and were picked up from The Lodge and Spa at Pico Bonito in an old pickup for a long drive, during which our driver was delightful. The morning began with swimming in the river, bouldering, and cliff diving amidst stunning scenery, which caught us off guard. The rafting came afterward; while the air was hot, the water was refreshing. The rafting section lasted about an hour to an hour and a half, which felt shorter than anticipated, but it was enjoyable with some incredible rapids. At times, we had to exit the raft and navigate land where it was unsafe. I thought there would be photos taken of us, but I might have misunderstood, as we ended up without any, which was disappointing because we would have loved them. If we had another chance, we would’ve brought our own GoPro. Our guides were skilled, friendly, and spoke excellent English, making us feel very safe.”— 362rachellec
