• Founded in 1980 by Tareq S. Rajab and Jehan S. Rajab, the Tareq Rajab Museum is the oldest Islamic Art museum in the Gulf, featuring a collection of over 30,000 items amassed over the past 60 years, with around 10,000 items on permanent display. Although often viewed as a single museum, its exhibits are spread across two nearby sites. The original "Tareq Rajab Museum," established in 1980, contains collections of Islamic manuscripts, ceramics, glass, metalwork, including the Bronze Door of Sultan Barquq, Islamic arms and armor, an extensive assortment of silver folk jewelry, textiles, embroideries, costumes, musical instruments, and orientalist art. In contrast, the "Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Calligraphy," inaugurated in 2007, showcases various mediums of Arabic script. • Bait Al-Othman is a historical museum in Kuwait situated in Hawalli. Opened by the Amir of Kuwait in April 2013, the museum focuses on the history and culture of Kuwait from the pre-oil period to the present. It features many historical artifacts and antiques that represent life in pre-oil Kuwait.
