A full-day small group tour by bus — 2 hours to Lake Bled, explore the lakeside and then Ljubljana's architecture and riverfront charm.
This day tour from Koper takes you by bus for about two hours to the picturesque Lake Bled, framed by towering mountains and featuring a quaint island in the middle. After exploring the lake's scenic spots, you’ll head to Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital, known for its riverside promenade and charming architecture.
The tour is conducted in a small group, allowing for a more personal experience. Enjoy some free time in both locations to absorb the sights and atmosphere. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as you’ll want to stroll through Ljubljana’s picturesque streets and along the riverside.
Reviews
The trip was enjoyable, but those of us sitting in the back of the van had difficulty hearing the guide throughout the ride. Once we arrived and were walking, he was excellent.
The journey to Lake Bled was fantastic. If I had known how amazing it was, I would have opted for a dedicated trip there. The driver was excellent, sharing interesting details about the country, although the lack of a microphone made it hard for those in the back to hear everything. The visit to Ljubljana was also wonderful; our guide was very insightful and highlighted many remarkable aspects of the city. I highly recommend this trip to everyone.
The guide was friendly and well-informed. With only four people in the van, it felt more intimate. Although it rained heavily in Koper, the weather cleared a bit for Bled and Ljubljana, offering lovely views. As mentioned, the drive is long to visit these beautiful towns, but it's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I’m pleased I took the trip.
The tour we selected did not mention that we would spend two hours each way on a van. The highway was not scenic at all. Additionally, in the back seats, we could barely hear the guide. On a positive note, the 40 minutes we spent at Lake Bled was beautiful, showcasing remarkable Austrian influence. We collectively decided to reduce our time in Ljubljana from three hours to two, ensuring we had enough time to return to our ship without rushing. Despite the time cut, Ljubljana was stunning and definitely worth the visit.
The tour start time was adjusted from 8:45 to 7:30 to accommodate the cruise ship arrival at 7 am, and we returned by 3:34. Our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and drove safely. With only seven participants, there was flexibility for those wishing to visit Bled Castle or take a horse and buggy ride around the lake for 60 euros, while others opted to walk. The famous Bled cake was delicious, and we even brought back extra for our cabin steward. We gave a generous tip to our guide due to his excellent service. The tour company was quick to respond to our messages and is conveniently located just 20 yards from the terminal. The vans and buses are right there, and the check-in area features a large beige umbrella with yellow sides. Overall, Lake Bled is definitely worth a visit.
The guide and driver were both excellent. However, it would be beneficial to have windows on both sides of the van for better visibility. It's frustrating to point out sights people can’t actually see.
Our experience with Sanja was fantastic. She ensured that everything went smoothly and was highly enjoyable. Her hard work is complemented by her smart approach and professionalism. Thank you, Sanja.
Visiting the castle at Lake Bled was a fantastic decision. It not only offered fascinating insights but also provided a unique view of the lake. Our guide, Goran, was excellent and suggested we sample the local vanilla cream cake, even directing us to the best place for it.
The tour took a 30-45 minute break en route to Lake Bled as we waited for two late arrivals, which reduced our time in Ljubljana. Additionally, the Lake Bled experience was poorly organized, with the boat ride and castle tour split, leading to unnecessary waiting for the other group.
This tour was excellent from beginning to end. Peter, our guide, provided a wealth of information about Lake Bled, Ljubljana, and Slovenia's history. His knowledge and attentiveness to our specific needs made the experience even better. I highly recommend this trip to all.
