The caves truly are enchanting and awe-inspiring, making the experience worthwhile. However, I found the group size to be too large, making it challenging to hear and keep up with the guide amidst the many other groups. Slovenia is a remarkable country; it has only been independent for 34 years and is beautiful, clean, and feels very safe with no unemployment.
The caves are stunning, but the entire experience felt hurried. Our train was delayed, leading to a rushed visit where we couldn’t fully appreciate the sights. We were asked to quickly point out the fish for the person behind us to save time, and we were advised against purchasing from the underground post office due to time constraints, as we could find the same souvenirs above ground. It's frustrating that their scheduling issues affected us as clients. Additionally, we sat on the train for 10 minutes waiting for other groups. While they seemed proud of accommodating 10,000 visitors daily, I recommend visiting independently with an audio guide if you want to truly enjoy this beautiful location. The castle was also impressive and worth the trip.
This was an excellent experience. Make sure to wear warmer clothing than you might expect, as the train ride to and from the cave can be quite cold. It's not ideal for individuals who have difficulty walking long distances or climbing stairs. Overall, the experience was fantastic and well narrated.
It's hard to find words that truly capture the wonder of these caves. Be sure to bring a jacket or sweatshirt. The castle is stunning, and the audio guide is simple and clear. Double-check your meeting time for the tour the day before; I noted the wrong time and missed our initial ride. Our guide tried to contact us, but we had our phone off. Consequently, we had to take a taxi to reach the caves and reunite with our group, which was quite stressful. I believe there should be more time allocated between the caves and the castle or afterward before boarding the small bus back to Koper. I am very grateful to the taxi driver who got us to the caves in time so we could experience both remarkable locations.
The cave tour was quite fascinating. A train transports you partway into the cave, and then you walk a considerable distance during the tour. Be prepared for a lot of walking on sloped surfaces.
Dana was incredibly engaging, knowledgeable, and supportive to both me and the group. The time allotted at each location was just right. Exploring the castle and the cave was enjoyable, although the cave tour offered by the attraction felt rushed, as they were trying to move all groups quickly.

This was an excellent excursion, featuring an hour and a half of walking inside the cave following the tram ride. The terrain isn't flat, with several inclines and declines, so being comfortable with that level of walking is essential.
Visiting the cave and castle was a fantastic choice. The experience was truly remarkable. I appreciated being there during a quieter time. Our guide was knowledgeable and showed kindness by assisting an older couple who had missed their bus, allowing them to join us for the next stop. It was heartwarming to witness such generosity.
This tour offers excellent value, costing half as much as the cruise ship excursion. The bus was filled, and everything was well-organized. The guide provided a lot of useful information.
