We were collected from the cruise terminal, though the heavy traffic in Kingstown made it difficult for Kevin to arrive punctually. His colleague kindly dropped us off at the port. We enjoyed a lively drive in a minivan through villages and along narrow, winding roads. The stop at the Pirates of the Caribbean film set was a highlight, and the entrance fee was just $2. Visiting the two waterfalls in the national park was definitely worth the strenuous hike to the higher one, which cost $5 to enter. The tour concluded at a beach that wasn't particularly remarkable—we've seen better. Kevin was engaging and knowledgeable, and we covered a lot of ground while driving. Overall, it was a good day out with a drop-off back at the cruise terminal.
A very positive experience overall. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. As it was our first tour, we had some initial concerns, but everything turned out to be quite professional. Thank you for a great time.
"Topdawg" proved to be an outstanding driver. Despite the steep and winding roads, we felt secure the entire time. He took a moment to share tips on using the horn. The visit to the fort was informative. The Pirates site offered limited sights ($2 fee), though playing in the coffins was entertaining. The waterfall stop stood out as the highlight. We also visited a beach and learned about whale catching.
This excursion with Top Dawg offered a fantastic introduction to St Vincent and The Grenadines. I appreciated the professional and detailed communication before the trip, especially as a solo traveller. Our guide Weena was genuinely enthusiastic about sharing her country, while our driver Dino ensured safe and comfortable transport. The Pirates of the Caribbean site is interesting for fans, though it hasn't been maintained particularly well since the film was made—just adjust your expectations. Overall, I highly recommend this tour with Top Dawg for those short on time and for fellow Pirates of the Caribbean fans.
This tour was fantastic. Wayne was friendly and helpful through WhatsApp, ensuring I had all the necessary details to join. Deano, our driver, was excellent and kept me informed when I couldn’t hear our guide, who introduced herself as "Sexy Lexi." She was incredibly knowledgeable. My mum also enjoyed it immensely. If you're a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, this is a must-do, and Topdawg Tours guarantees a great experience.
I gained a great deal of knowledge about St Vincent and The Grenadines, including its sustainability, local fruits, and vegetation, as well as its people. Our guide helped us appreciate the islands even more. We also explored Wallilabou Landing, a filming location for parts of Pirates of the Caribbean, The Black Pearl. It's truly a beautiful place.
The tour itself was enjoyable, particularly for the coastal views. However, the location has become quite touristy, requires additional entry fees, and feels somewhat lacking. Afterward, we visited a lovely small park (also with an extra fee) and then headed to the beach for swimming. Fort Charlotte was quite fascinating. Both the driver and guide were pleasant. Unfortunately, those of us who arrived early had to wait a long time to start the tour, likely due to unclear timing details, while the last five guests showed up just before the end of the window.
I made a reservation 10 months in advance, but on the day of the tour, they had no record of it and we were trapped at the port, forced to switch to another operator. We were driven around in a car and changed vehicles three times. Unable to return to the port, we ended up on a tour that was already in progress and completely different from what we booked. We ended up paying the full price, possibly more than those actually on the bus. If you're arriving by cruise ship, it's best to stay on board, as this was a disappointing experience.
The tour was great and offered a very affordable price in comparison to others. It provided a full island experience and lasted 7 hours instead of the expected 5, which felt lengthy without any lunch break. The stops were longer, lasting 45 minutes to an hour, rather than the usual 15 to 30 minutes. The bus, with a maximum of 22 passengers, navigated narrow winding roads and hill climbs, but the views were impressive. Both the driver and guide were excellent. However, we left an hour later than scheduled, and I found the beach stop disappointing; it lacked facilities, had black sand, and there were no swimming opportunities. It would have been better to skip the beach in favor of returning by ship.
The pirates of the Caribbean excursion was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, "Chef," was both friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing our enjoyment of the day. The pace was just right, allowing my family to unwind and fully appreciate everything. I highly recommend this excursion as it’s an ideal way to appreciate the island's beauty.
