We arranged this tour directly with Fraser at +1 (784) 530-8138, who guided us through an incredible journey to the Owia Salt Ponds, passing by the Montreal Gardens and then visiting the Black Point Tunnel. The salt ponds are a beautiful spot for swimming and picnicking in the park above. Fraser arranged a tasty local lunch for us, which we enjoyed thoroughly. Reaching the ponds requires descending nearly 200 steps to the beach area. The sea was quite calm during our visit, but it must be stunning when the Atlantic waves crash against the protective rocks surrounding the ponds. This was our second tour with Fraser (we also reviewed the La Soufriere tour). With just four travelers on board, we had ample space in his luxury mini-bus. He consistently pointed out points of interest and made stops for us to admire scenic views. Fraser provided informative commentary throughout the tour, sharing insights about everything from buildings to agriculture, beaches, rainforests, and gardens. He was always ready to answer our questions and conveyed his passion for the island. He took excellent care of us all day. We highly recommend Fraser not only for his extensive knowledge and personable nature as a tour guide, but for exceeding our expectations in various ways. A perfect example is when he offered us water shoes to make our walk down to the salt ponds and into the water more comfortable and safe, in addition to the treats he provided from his cooler throughout the day.
We took a tour with Fraser Taxi & Tours on St. Vincent in late December 2022. Fraser has two luxury minivans, a 6-seater and a 7-seater, as well as a minibus. We traveled in the 6-seater along the east coast, visiting several beautiful spots including Kingstown, Belmont Lookout, Mesopotamia Valley, Black Point Tunnel, the former capital Georgetown, and Rabacca Dry River. The highlight was swimming in the Owia Salt Pond, surrounded by volcanic rocks—it felt like a private oasis. We enjoyed a snack in the park above the swimming area, which had showers and changing rooms. We highly recommend this tour with Fraser and already have our next tour booked for April. Looking forward to returning to paradise.
Our trip got canceled just a day prior because of low participation. We ended up booking another tour with the same company, which cost us 30 euros less. Despite assurances, I’ve been waiting over two months for a refund. I strongly recommend against paying in advance with this organizer. Additionally, be aware that we had to cover the entrance fee at the waterfall, even though we later discovered that tickets were supposed to be included in the excursion price.
During our cruise stop in St. Vincent, my family of five—kids aged 17, 14, and 11—booked this excursion and had a limited time frame. Fraser addressed all my pre-trip questions via email, especially about returning to the port on time. It turned out we were the only ones on this trip, and Fraser himself guided us. His organization skills were clear as other drivers in the area looked to him for guidance. Fraser was fantastic, sharing extensive information about St. Vincent on our way to the Salt Ponds. He made several stops, offered us drinks and fresh fruit, and arranged a tasty lunch for us to enjoy at the ponds. Upon arrival, he ensured everyone was safely escorted to the pond area. I recommend wearing water shoes since it can be very slippery, but Fraser ensured all five of us were safe without them. His priority was our safety while at the Salt Ponds. We returned to port with plenty of time to spare and truly enjoyed the best excursion of our vacation at a fair price. I highly recommend this experience.
