Jason, our guide, made the day enjoyable and informative with his wealth of island knowledge and great sense of humor. We had a wonderful time, especially with the local food for lunch and the best rum punch we tried. The waterfall was stunning and a lovely spot for a kiss. We also enjoyed the views at the volcano's base and a stroll along a black sand beach. Jason provided fascinating details about the local plants and flowers, which we found very interesting.
The experience felt hurried, as we had no tour guide, just a driver. We only had 45 minutes at Dark View Falls and 30 minutes at the beach. The schedule became even tighter after an unplanned stop at the botanical gardens, and being grouped with cruise ship passengers further rushed the entire trip.
The trip involved 5 hours of hectic driving with no engagement from the guide or driver. They merely drove and adhered to the schedule, starting 30 minutes late. Overall, I recommend skipping this experience. The long journey included a 2.5-hour stretch before our first stop, and the scenery was unappealing with no commentary to enhance the experience.
The performance did not meet the promised agreement. We were crammed into a minivan. The alcoholic beverages were misrepresented; he only had a few beers, which was insufficient. There was no Coke or Rum, no WiFi in the vehicle, and no snacks as described. We are seeking a price reduction and a refund.
I had a wonderful day despite the rain, as the driver went above and beyond to ensure we fully experienced the island. I enjoyed the local food, including roasted breadfruit and fish. The Dark View Falls were beautiful, even though it was wet, and we also visited the filming location of Pirates of the Caribbean. The sun eventually shone, and we stopped at a black sand beach with excellent views. I would definitely recommend it with better weather.
During our time in St. Vincent, we arranged a private tour to the waterfalls. The team arrived punctually and greeted us warmly, despite the guide not feeling her best, which led to our guide for the day, Austin. From the beginning, he was excellent. The tour took us along the leeward side of the island, showcasing several villages. Highlights included Dark View Falls, the film set for Pirates of the Caribbean, Fort Charlotte (which was closed for repairs), and Buccament Beach. Austin was very knowledgeable and happily addressed all our inquiries. We even stopped for food at a street barbecue, with drinks included. It was a truly valuable and enlightening experience that I would highly recommend.
The excursion involved a small group of six, and our driver was very skilled, ensuring we always felt safe. We visited Dark View Falls, with opportunities to walk to both the lower and upper falls. Next, we explored the set of Pirates of the Caribbean at Port Royal. Our day concluded with a beach stop before returning after six hours, making it a complete day trip. Many thanks to Trubb Taxi for the excellent organization; they even provided snacks, beer, and soda. It was an ideal day.
Austin was a fantastic guide, and we really enjoyed our tour of Saint Vincent with him. Our group size of 6 was just right, and all admissions were covered. However, it was a bit inconvenient that we had to stop at the market for drinks, which should have been included, especially since the tour lasted nearly 8 hours. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would gladly do it again.
The tour was fantastic, and Dark View Falls truly stood out as a highlight of our trip. The beauty of the falls was breathtaking and peaceful. Our guides were very knowledgeable and offered snacks and drinks as well. While the pirates of the Caribbean movie set wasn’t my favorite stop, that’s no fault of the tour guides. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and gained valuable insights about St. Vincent.
I really enjoyed the tour and had the chance to explore many diverse locations on this stunning island.
