Reviews
The tour was both engaging and enjoyable. Our guide, R. Duffy, was informative, easy to talk to, and demonstrated a lot of experience.
The guide was pleasant, but the taxi was in poor condition and cramped for six adults, lacking seat belts or headrests in the middle seats. The air conditioning was ineffective and needed to be turned off on steep hills to prevent overheating, causing slow travel. We were taken to the Sandals beach, but only had access to a small public section where the state of the chairs and umbrellas matched that of the taxi. There wasn't enough time at the waterfalls or for lunch, which was supposed to be available at the Pirates of the Caribbean beach within our 30-minute timeframe. We were promised snacks and fruit but only received a small slice of golden apple purchased from a passing farmer. Although we stopped at a supermarket for ice and drinks, we also missed the botanical gardens due to time constraints. Delays at a pharmacy and a large tour group at the waterfalls further impacted our schedule. The island is beautiful with many great spots to explore, but we spent too much time overheating in the rundown taxi trying to get there.
This day tour was excellent for getting a real sense of the island. Our guide, Austin, was a wonderful host. I would definitely recommend it.
The tour included the waterfalls, a visit to the Pirates of the Caribbean set, a beach stop, and the botanical gardens, lasting around 5 hours instead of the expected 6-7. The roads were winding, but our driver was careful and considerate. The falls were stunning and peaceful when we arrived, though our driver stayed with the van while we explored on our own. We enjoyed seeing the two falls and had a complimentary mango drink and snack afterward. At the Pirates location, the driver again waited by the van while we explored, but the site seemed neglected and wasn’t worth the stop—we spent only about 20 minutes there. Then we visited a beach near Sands Resort, which was not very attractive. Again, we had about 20 minutes to walk to the beach and back, with the driver remaining at the van. Afterward, the driver took us back to Kingstown, skipping the tropical gardens. When asked, she explained that her boss allowed skipping the gardens sometimes, as some guests preferred to stay longer at the beach. Overall, we didn’t spend long at any location, as our total time was shorter than anticipated. It felt like our driver was eager to end her day early. While I would recommend visiting the falls, I would not choose this company again, nor would I suggest the Pirates set or the beach. A private taxi just for the falls might be a better option.
The tour covered several locations, including Dark Falls, Pirates of the Caribbean, a beach by Secrets, and a botanical garden. Our group had 12 people in a van that could hold 14. While there was a lot of travel to different spots, the driver provided beer, water, and punch, along with snacks like plantain chips and bananas. The guide-driver shared some introductory information. Overall, this tour was a more affordable option compared to the cruise ship offerings, but the Pirates of the Caribbean visit was not as impressive as expected.
The experience was visually stunning, showcasing the island's lush vegetation. The meeting area was somewhat chaotic, but we proceeded with some photo stops. Unfortunately, the driver lacked a microphone, making it difficult to hear, which could use improvement. The journey to the falls was magnificent, and although the falls were small, they were lovely. The suspension bridge was quite tiny, especially compared to others I've seen, and it was crowded with tourists, making it hard to enjoy. The “Curse of the Carbide” site might be worth a visit, but it seems to be aging. The beach there is dark, so that's something to note. Unfortunately, we missed visiting the botanical garden because the driver didn't want to go there, which was disappointing.
I had a fantastic experience on this tour. Austin, our guide, was well-informed about the area and its history. He was friendly and ensured our safety while navigating the waters. I'll certainly book another tour in the future.
This was an excellent tour with a fantastic guide. Since there were only two of us, we had the flexibility to decide our activities and their duration. It was a lot of fun.
The tour was well-organized, with a friendly driver and guide named Mary. The itinerary included many enjoyable activities and offered excellent sightseeing opportunities.
The driver arrived on time for pickup at Sandals. His skills were tested on the winding, steep roads leading to the falls, which although a bit away from Sandals, offered beautiful scenery. The lower falls, dark view, and bamboo bridge were highlights. However, the Pirates of the Caribbean movie scene was somewhat dilapidated. We also passed by the local prison, which had vendors outside the fence. Just remember, the return journey to the resort includes those scenic views of the island.
