An enjoyable tour thanks to the entertaining Chef and our driver Dino. The cruise ship pick-up and drop-off were convenient. Many thanks for a great experience.
I was very satisfied with the pickup and drop-off at my hotel provided by TopDawg Taxi. I recommend hiring a private guide while at the Gardens. Also, be aware that the Gardens do not accept credit cards.
A wonderful mix of experiences on the island. Our tour guide, Chefrene, was outstanding. We visited the beach, explored the botanical garden, and enjoyed the mountains.
Our afternoon with Joel as our driver and Anthony at Fort Charlotte, along with another Anthony in the breathtaking botanical gardens, was truly enjoyable. Both guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The fort offered stunning views and fascinating history. The gardens featured trees from various countries, including a breadfruit tree that traces its lineage to one planted by Captain Bligh. Anthony was well-versed in the history of each plant and demonstrated a clear passion for their care. We also spotted and heard the lovely local parrot. It was an engaging afternoon, including the scenic drive to and from the locations.
There are many types of trees, most of which are labeled, but there are only a few flowers. There are benches and seats for resting, and toilet facilities are provided. We chose not to hire a guide, which may have been a missed opportunity.
I enjoyed a wonderful tour with Dino yesterday, and briefly with Shef. Dino's driving, especially his clutch control on the hills, was impressive. The tour was both informative and fun. We didn't give it five stars because the beach resort we visited at the end was overcrowded. While we were content to walk on the beach and have a drink at a café, those seeking a better beach experience might be let down. It could be beneficial to consider an alternative resort for guests.
The tour was excellent, very informative and engaging. Our guide was fantastic. We had to change our booking last minute, but the company was accommodating and arranged for us to go the next day via Whatsapp. This flexibility was great since we had other plans, and they even dropped us off at the ferry terminal instead of the hotel, which saved us both time and taxi fare.
The chef serving as our guide was exceptional. She was very responsive to our preferences. Even when just one out of our group of six wanted to stop at the beach briefly, she easily adjusted our itinerary to avoid unnecessary beach fees for the rest of us. As she expertly navigated the island's narrow, steep roads, she shared insightful information about the locale.
I appreciated that our guide arrived early for the tour. We had a pick-up time of 0900, but she called us at 0840 to let us know she was already there. There were just three of us on the tour, and she provided a humorous yet detailed narration of the island's history while safely navigating the narrow, hilly roads of St. Vincent. Our first stop was Fort Charlotte, where the guide shared intriguing historical details, though some aspects felt unsettling given the settlers' past. Unfortunately, the botanical gardens were closed, so we adjusted our itinerary and returned to Kingstown, where we explored the market and did some shopping. We then visited Paradise Beach Club, which I think could have been skipped, but overall, it was a good tour.
Don't miss the opportunity to take the botanical gardens tour with Antony upon your arrival. He is truly remarkable.
