This activity was a lot of fun. The email with the coupon code took a few minutes to arrive, but patience paid off. There was an issue with the final challenge, as the website displayed an error, which caused me to return to the home page when I attempted to go back. Despite that, I enjoyed doing something unique with my coworkers while we were on a work trip.
This experience was very engaging and provided a unique way to explore the city's history. The only challenge I faced was with a puzzle regarding the pumphouse facade, where clearer instructions would have helped. Other than that, everything was enjoyable.
Booking and receiving instructions for the tour was quite frustrating. It would be helpful to clarify that purchasing here requires using a coupon on the actual site where the tour begins. I eventually found the necessary information in my email after spending 30 minutes trying to figure it out, which left me angry and my family impatient. This was not an ideal way to start a family outing. Despite the rocky beginning, we had a great time on the tour. It was enjoyable to solve the codes and find the answers. I particularly liked that we were led to places I wouldn't have noticed even as a tourist. Kingston has a rich history, and while I learned about it in school, seeing it firsthand now makes me appreciate the preserved buildings and monuments. It's a reminder of where our country's history began. I would recommend this tour; it encourages you to look beyond the surface. We did run into an issue, though. We counted the red plaques but were never asked to enter the number. Additionally, the clue regarding Cartwright should clarify that numbers don't count.
Exploring Kingston was enjoyable, especially with teenagers. The activity was just the right level of difficulty, with minimal walking and informative content. I appreciated the previous reviews that explained how to obtain the tickets, as I initially thought it might be a scam due to the numerous emails about accessing the tour. However, there was no bonus question at the end regarding the number of red plaques, which was mentioned. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience.
There was a lot of unnecessary walking back and forth. While there were some interesting facts, the quests felt a bit tedious. Our group lost interest and we only managed to get through 41% of the activity.
The tour was enjoyable and provided a great historical insight. Parking was a bit challenging; we ended up parking on the street. It was somewhat difficult to get started, but we managed to sort it out.
The lack of accessibility for individuals with disabilities, such as those using wheelchairs or walkers, was disappointing. Navigating the area proved challenging, and we struggled to participate in much of the park scavenger hunt because of these issues.
The French experience was very disappointing from beginning to end. We struggled to validate our purchase on the supplier’s website and had to call for email instructions. The process was unclear and not automated. Additionally, there were errors in the French version of the questions and answers, such as asking us to find an "i" instead of a "t" in the target word, and counting red signs we encountered along the way without being prompted for the answers. The last clue was supposed to be in front of City Hall but was actually located behind it. To top it off, after answering the final question, we ended up on an error page. Paying $34.50 for this was not worth it. This activity felt more like a rally than a treasure hunt.
I was initially hesitant about purchasing the scavenger hunt due to concerns about the directions. However, I’m really happy we decided to go for it. The company contacted me right after my purchase and guided me on signing up through a link or offered to assist if I provided my email. After sharing my email, we were set up in just a few minutes. Although the weather caused us to stop before finishing, we made it over halfway and my kids and I had a great time. I will definitely consider trying more of these in other cities we explore.
The information shared was engaging, and the attractions were relatively nearby and easy to locate. However, it took 30 minutes and a call to the company to get the app to work, and having only one bar signal in much of downtown caused frequent interruptions.
