Reviews
We enjoyed the one and a half hour cruise from the back of the boat while sitting in camping chairs. The people beside us kept getting up for drinks and food. We observed several islands, and the commentary was decent, but I found it more engaging two decades ago on the Guananoque side. The passage involved a stop in front of the photographer.
While traveling from Toronto to Montreal, the cruise from Kingston to Thousand Islands is a must-do. If you enjoy boat rides, seeing the homes on the islands feels like stepping into another world. Strolling along the main street to watch street performers is delightful. Be sure to grab a hot dog in the dock gardens as well.
Among all the ships, this one was disappointing. The scenery was lacking, and the carpet was filthy, still holding food debris from the previous group. The speakers were excessively loud throughout the 90 minutes, which was overwhelming. An app for selective listening would be a beneficial improvement since soft music would have been nicer. There were children yelling and large families more focused on partying than enjoying the views, which were just water with no islands. Overall, the experience was ruined by noise, dirt, and a lack of sights. A three-hour cruise offers a much better route with plenty of islands to see.
The cruise was not informative at all, providing no new insights beyond what was promised in the sales description. It felt like the focus was more on selling snacks and drinks. I regret spending my time on this.
Booking the cruise in Kingston online was straightforward, but I overlooked the priority booking option until I noticed the two lines upon arrival. It would be helpful to have someone there 30 minutes earlier to manage traffic and answer questions. Once on board, we located some comfy seats on the upper deck, although they were few. The cruise itself was very relaxing, and the commentary was clear and informative. I suggest bringing a light sweater, even on warm days, because it can get quite breezy. Overall, I would certainly do this again.
It’s important to note that children under 5 should not be on this cruise. While the scenery was stunning, the presence of small kids made it impossible to enjoy or hear anything. I won't be doing this again; it was a frustrating waste of both time and money.
This trip was fantastic. The guide provided a wealth of information and did an excellent job. It offered a nice combination of knowledge and sightseeing. The covered boat provided a pleasant way to stay out of the sun, while there were also seats available for those who preferred to be in the sun. I would definitely consider taking this trip or the longer cruise again.
I joined the shipwreck cruise and found it lacking. Much of the information repeated what I'd heard on other tours, and the minimal discussion on the shipwrecks was only about 30 minutes long, without any engaging stories. After half an hour, I chose to relax and enjoy the boat ride, but then they played upbeat music that baffled most passengers.
The crew was welcoming and shared interesting information. The boat was clean, and the snack and drink options were excellent. The duration was just right, and finding the location was a breeze.
The boat ride in front of Kingston was disappointing. It was marketed as a tour of the wrecks, but it turned out to be just a video playing on a screen, which was hard to see due to the sunlight.
