Three-hour scenic cruise with lunch included, daily departure from Downtown Kingston. Enjoy views of the 1000 Islands while dining on the St. Lawrence River.
This three-hour lunch cruise sets sail from Downtown Kingston at 12:30 PM daily, offering a comprehensive look at the beautiful 1000 Islands. Guests can enjoy lunch while taking in the stunning views of the islands along the St. Lawrence River.
The exact vessel may change depending on the season; during Spring and Fall, lunch is served on the scenic second deck of the Island Queen paddle-wheeler, while in July and August, the cruise operates aboard the glass-topped catamaran, the Island Star, from Wednesday to Sunday. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, making it a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the picturesque scenery.

Cruising the 1000 Islands is best experienced this way. As a family of three, I was uncertain about my 12-year-old enjoying it, but the combination of a lunch cruise with a tour guide and live entertainment made it quite enjoyable. The wait staff was excellent and very helpful. The on-board bar had a selection of wine, beer, spirits, and a few cocktails and mocktails, but drinks are not included in the ticket price, which was disclosed upfront. We listened to the guide initially, but it became hard to hear over the chatter of other guests enjoying themselves and the scenery. The food was decent; the salad starter was fresh and flavorful, but my chicken main course was lukewarm and visually unappealing, lacking color aside from a few carrots. The flavor didn't suit my taste, but my husband enjoyed it. The dessert was a nice cheesecake, though my 12-year-old, a picky eater, didn't have an alternative option. Overall, it was a delightful three-hour tour.
The experience was quite noisy, making it difficult to hear any information about the tour due to loud children, some boisterous individuals, and music. It was rather disappointing.
We enjoyed a lovely day with a tasty lunch and excellent commentary and entertainment. It couldn't have been a better way to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
The Thousand Islands cruise is essential for first-time visitors to Kingston, in my view. I suggest opting for lunch or dinner; we chose the lunch cruise, and the food was excellent. The views are truly breathtaking, making it a valuable experience.
The ride was enjoyable, but the noise on board made it hard to hear the comments. The meal was good, but it was misleading to mention that coffee would be included. There was only one option for the starter and dessert, but three choices for the main dish. The staff were friendly and efficient. The tour guide and musician were professional, though sometimes hard to hear. Overall, the ride felt a bit repetitive with similar landscapes.
The service and food quality exceeded my expectations. I would certainly participate in this cruise again. It’s an ideal experience for those visiting Kingston for the first time.
The lunch on the middle deck was delightful, featuring great food and service in a glass-enclosed space. Our waiter, Ryan, was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better.
The experience was enjoyable overall. The narrator lacked confidence in their delivery. It would have been better to serve the meal before the island tour since it was challenging to eat while listening and watching. The staff were friendly, but more coffee options would have been appreciated instead of just alcohol. The trip was informative and interesting. The jazz group added a playful touch. Overall, it was a valuable way to spend an afternoon.
Spending the afternoon on the Island Queen cruise was wonderful. The service, food, and staff were all top-notch, surpassing our expectations and offering great value for the cost. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to experience the islands.
The staff, crew, and entertainers were all excellent. The boat was clean and well-maintained, as were the toilets. Ordering drinks was somewhat disorganized, and the food arrived a bit cold, although it was delicious. I would recommend this experience.
