Reviews
Arthur has extensive knowledge about Kingston, and his insights into local politics enriched the walk. However, I felt the tour was too brief—while we anticipated an hour, it ended up running longer. I would have appreciated more stops to explore the city's history. Fortunately, the weather was pleasant.
The walk led by Arthur Milnes, along with 20 other participants, was both engaging and educational. There were humorous anecdotes and insights into notable Canadians and their contributions to Kingston. I found the information about St. George's Cathedral particularly fascinating. Mr. Milnes spoke about his diverse career experiences, which added to the intrigue. The hour passed by so swiftly. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned about aspects of Kingston that were previously unfamiliar to me.
I organized a tour for 20 members of my walking club with Arthur Milnes on September 29, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants found him to be captivating, stating it was an excellent tour and that he was the finest guide they had encountered. A few attendees even purchased his book. Although the tour was scheduled for an hour, it extended to an hour and twenty minutes. Arthur kindly addressed numerous questions at the end of the session. Additionally, it was delightful to explore the Frontenac Club. A few of us enjoyed drinks at the bar, where Arthur joined us, chatted, and signed a book. Thank you, Arthur, for a wonderful experience!
I went on a walk with Arthur Milnes on Friday, September 29th, and he provided an incredible history of "old" Kingston. His knowledge is extensive, including some lesser-known facts. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kingston, even for just a short visit. After living here for 40 years, I learned things I had never known. Everyone had a great time.
I highly recommend the walking tour with Arthur Milne. His knowledge of Kingston's history is exceptional, covering fascinating facts about local historical figures and featuring a visit to a former gentlemen's club. My husband and I, both seniors and not typical history enthusiasts, found ourselves captivated by Kingston's significant role in Canada. Arthur's informative approach and excellent communication skills made the walk around the central area engaging. He has a knack for inspiring others to appreciate the historical context. We left with a deeper understanding that history reflects past events and is continually evolving, with today's actions becoming tomorrow's lessons. Thank you, Arthur; it was greatly appreciated.
I joined a tour with around 20 people in the last week of September 2023, hoping to learn about Kingston's history. However, Mr. Arthur mainly shared his personal encounters with some American and Canadian politicians, which seemed irrelevant to Kingston's history. The tour concluded at a luxury hotel with pricey drinks. I paid about $30 for this experience and, had I known it was more about his experiences, I would have preferred to enjoy a pizza instead. I can't recommend this tour to anyone. I suggest Mr. Arthur consider the Kingston Medical Museum tour, which might help him refine his content.
We thoroughly enjoyed learning the fascinating stories behind the historic buildings. Meeting someone so knowledgeable about Kingston and Canadian history was a true delight. The reference to our indigenous roots was particularly noteworthy. Altogether, it was an excellent experience.
