We were timely picked up by our guide, Win, and started our day at a local temple. Next, we enjoyed a refreshing swim at the Sai Rung waterfall, followed by the main attraction, the elephant sanctuary. We also stopped at the Tsunami museum and the turtle conservation center at the naval base, concluding with a delightful Thai lunch at the Waterside restaurant. This excursion offered a fantastic mix of experiences, and Win was both friendly and knowledgeable.
This was a pleasant local tour that lasted just half a day. The elephant sanctuary was the main attraction, allowing us to interact closely with the elephants. Our guide was informative, and the lunch was enjoyable.
This was a fantastic half-day trip that actually extended beyond the expected time as we waited for others at the elephant sanctuary. This delay allowed us to enjoy more time observing the elephants during feeding, walking around, and bathing. The food provided was outstanding, and our guide was exceptional. I had thought we could swim in the waterfall, but it's not suitable for bathing. The transportation was in an open-back truck with side seating instead of a minivan or car.
Tony was an outstanding guide, brimming with information. My dad really enjoyed the thrill of seeing and feeding the elephants. However, there was some misunderstanding regarding the pick-up time. We thought we needed to meet at 10 minutes before our activity that began at 10, but our actual pick-up was at 9:15, and we weren't informed about that change. This was the only downside to an otherwise lovely morning filled with gorgeous food and adorable turtles, particularly the babies.
A thrilling four-hour experience. The lunch exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it.
A wonderful combination of attractions and activities, with the turtles being a standout feature. Tony was an enjoyable and well-informed guide.
Everything was just right, with nothing lacking or excessive. It's advisable to bring water and mosquito repellent, especially when visiting the areas with elephants and the waterfall, which may vary in flow depending on recent rainfall.
This tour was truly fantastic. Our guide had extensive knowledge and shared valuable insights about the local culture and the Tsunami from a personal viewpoint. The elephant sanctuary was wonderful, allowing us to get up close to the elephants in a stress-free environment without any tourist gimmicks. The turtle conservation center was also intriguing. I highly recommend this experience overall.
The tour offered a balanced range of attractions, complemented by highly skilled guidance throughout the experience.
This tour offers a fantastic combination of memorable experiences. The Elephant Sanctuary, tsunami memorial, and turtle program were standout highlights. The guides were well-informed and truly passionate about what they shared. It’s advisable to wear a hat and dress comfortably while ensuring you're protected from the heat and sun.
