What's the itinerary?+
• At 6 am, an English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up and depart for Haridwar, which takes approximately 5 hours by car. Your first destination will be Har ki Pauri, considered one of the holiest ghats in India, where the Ganga is believed to first touch the plains, departing from the Himalayan ranges. This ghat, also referred to as Brahma Kund, is notable for the stone that features an imprint of Lord Vishnu’s foot. You will also visit two bridges in Rishikesh: the Lakshman Jhula, a popular hanging bridge measuring 450 ft in length and standing 70 ft above the Ganga, located about 3 km from Rishikesh town, and Ram Jhula, the newer iron bridge named after Lakshman's brother, Lord Ram. You can have lunch at a local restaurant (additional cost) before touring Sivananda Ashram, Parmath Niketan Temple, Gita Bhavan, Swarg Ashram, Ma Anandamayee Ashram, Sapt Rishi Ashram, and The Beatles Ashram. In the evening, you will attend Ganga Aarti at Haridwar during sunset, where thousands gather at the ghats of Har ki Pauri to witness this ritual, which has been ongoing for several decades. The ceremony is held across the river's banks, where priests light lamps in a clockwise fashion, accompanied by songs honoring Mother Ganga. Following the ritual, devotees will cup their hands over the flame and raise their palms to their foreheads to receive blessings and purification. Lastly, you will return to New Delhi and be dropped off at your hotel around 10 pm.
