Outstanding service provided by a friendly and knowledgeable crew who expertly guided us to enhance our wildlife sightings. Although I was aware that whale sightings might be limited in early May, we were fortunate to see 15-20 whales surfacing. We also observed eagles in flight and had the chance to visit a nesting area for a close-up view. An incredible experience that won't disappoint.
This excursion comes highly recommended. We gained extensive insights into Alaska's history, lifestyles, wildlife, and environment. A highlight was when the captain cut the engine, allowing us to soak in the stunning scenery while we quietly searched for whales. It was an unforgettable day.
The crew was exceptionally friendly and the organization was top-notch. Even though it was early in the season, the captain was committed to locating a whale, and we ended up seeing one four times. The sight of twenty eagles up close in their natural habitat was incredible. I highly recommend this experience.
Captain Morgan and her crew were welcoming and energetic during our rewarding whale watching adventure. The boat was very clean and well-maintained. I reached out the day prior to confirm the return time but did not receive a reply, which was disappointing. Fortunately, we managed to reschedule to an earlier time while on shore, which alleviated our concern.
This tour was truly exceptional, featuring a remarkable crew. The check-in process was straightforward, and the crew was easy to locate at the visitor center. After gathering at the dock, we enjoyed a brief walk to the clean and spacious boat, which provides plenty of both indoor and outdoor space. This smaller vessel accommodates around 30 to 35 guests, offering a roomy feel without the crowding found on larger whale-watching boats. The staff was outstanding, ensuring everyone was informed about the sights and had equal chances to view the wildlife. With limited upper deck space, they made sure everyone who wanted to go up had the chance. The captain skillfully positioned the boat for fantastic photo and video opportunities. I highly recommend this tour.
Spending time on this family-owned boat is truly exceptional. The crew has extensive local knowledge and stays in touch with other vessels to enhance wildlife sightings. Although wildlife encounters can’t be promised, we were fortunate to follow a pod of four humpback whales, see eagles being fed from the ship, and observe porpoises, seals, and sea lions. The staff is friendly and well-informed, and the boat was comfortable with great amenities, including hot chocolate and coffee for warmth. This experience is genuinely unique, and I highly recommend it.
Be prepared to stay alert while looking for whales. The captain and crew are helpful in spotting them, but the upper deck can get a bit crowded for the best views. Thankfully, most guests were considerate in sharing. It can be quite chilly up top, particularly when the boat is underway, so dress warmly. We experienced a lovely sunny day and encountered numerous whales, including one that was playfully splashing its tail right next to us. Additionally, we spotted eagles and a few seals along the way.
Despite having provided our contact information and knowing another tour was scheduled that day, our trip was canceled due to insufficient sign-ups. While I understand we were the only participants, some notice would have allowed us to make alternative plans and not ruin our day. I hope the tour operator considers this feedback and informs travelers in advance, as that would be much more reasonable.
The crew was exceptional—friendly and well-informed. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable experience.
This is a family-run tour with exceptional hosts who made every effort to locate whales. Although the whales were elusive, we did capture some distant spouts and a lovely tail from a baby whale. The eagles were much more agreeable, entertaining us as they swooped around the boat to catch fish tossed by one of the guides. The tour also includes complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks. I highly recommend this experience.
