Great communication throughout the entire process via email and text with the fishing company. My time with Captain Mike was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable and proficient in fishing techniques. We reached our limit of halibut in under 90 minutes. Everyone had a great time! I would definitely do this again.
The fishing trip exceeded my expectations and was well worth the cost. Booking was effortless, and their communication was excellent all along. Captain Mike was incredible—knowledgeable, funny, and an all-around fantastic person. We reached our limit in just about two hours and had a fantastic time.
This was an incredible trip. Captain Kevin was fantastic, providing a lot of fun while we caught a great number of fish. The communication was superb, and he even took care of shipping our catch back to New Jersey.
Captain Justin was fantastic, truly engaging and full of wonderful stories. Our boat was the only one to find the fish, and we reached our limit of halibut in no time. The day went by quickly and was a great experience on the water.
This was an outstanding excursion right from our ship. Kevin was fantastic, and we not only caught a lot of fish but also encountered a variety of wildlife. This experience was absolutely a highlight of our trip. I'm eager to cook the fish we caught when we return home.
Justin was a fantastic guide. We gained a lot of knowledge about Ketchikan and fishing. We managed to catch halibut, rockfish, cod, and a huge lingcod. Our family of five had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it!
Our fishing charter in Ketchikan was extremely disappointing and felt like a waste of money. Although the weather was perfect, the execution of the trip fell significantly short. My husband, mother, and stepfather joined the excursion led by Captain Travis, and from the start, it felt chaotic. Instead of meeting us at the dock with a welcoming greeting, he had us walk down to the boat, which felt disorganized. A major concern was the lack of a safety briefing once we boarded. There was no introduction to emergency protocols or even a mention of where to find life jackets. Despite having three guests, only two rods were rigged initially, and we trolled for an hour without any bites. Travis was not a local resident and thus couldn’t use live bait, which might have improved our chances. The overall atmosphere was awkward, as there was minimal interaction from Travis throughout the trip. After an hour, he finally added a third rod at a shallower depth, but my stepfather, an experienced fisherman, noted that Travis did not adjust the lines' depth despite no bites for three hours. He only reeled in the lines once to check the lures. We eventually caught one fish, but were shocked to find out it would cost $300 to ship it home—information that would have been useful at the catch moment since we might have chosen to release it instead. For the $2,100 we paid, we expected a much better, engaging experience. From what we read, we believe the owner or his son would have delivered a superior outing. Travis did not appear invested in his role, which reflected poorly on the trip and resulted in our disappointment. I recommend asking for the owner or a local guide if you're considering this charter, as this experience was a regret rather than a memorable part of our Alaska trip.
Travis took us straight to where the fish were biting. He greeted us at the dock and ensured everything went smoothly from the beginning. It was an unforgettable day on the water and truly the best part of our Alaska adventure. I highly recommend this experience.
The father and son team was very friendly and knowledgeable. We caught three different species of salmon, making it a wonderful experience for my 12 and 15-year-old kids.
I went halibut fishing in December and it was an excellent experience. I had a lot of fun while catching halibut, rock fish, and cod. My family enjoyed themselves too; the boat was clean and had a bathroom, which was essential for my young child.
