Seeing the fjords in Alaska was an incredible experience. It truly became the highlight of our journey. The pilot even pointed out a few mountain goats, which made it even more special.
This trip was incredible. Experiencing the views from above was spectacular, offering a chance to see places I would never have otherwise. I captured so many stunning photos. Our pilot, Scott, was fantastic.
The communication regarding cancellations was extremely poor. I booked an 8am excursion and was informed just 7 minutes before the start that it was cancelled due to fog, which I understand is beyond their control. However, there was no excuse for contacting me so late. I was offered a spot on the 9:45 tour, but when I arrived, no one from the company showed up. After waiting, I called them, only to find out the excursion had been cancelled again. While I don’t blame them for the weather, the lack of timely communication wasted my morning and left me with no chance to arrange another activity before my cruise left.
This company was terrible to deal with. I booked an excursion with Alaska Shore Excursions in March 2025 for a September trip. I was told to meet on the Broadwalk at 12:45 for a 13:15 pick-up, but nobody showed up. After multiple attempts to contact Alaska Shore Excursions and Tarquan Air, we eventually reached someone at Tarquan Air after about 30 minutes. They informed us that the tour had been canceled due to weather and that we should have received an email, which we did but it arrived right at pick-up time. We ended up wandering into a tourist information center and found an alternative floatplane tour with Island Wings. They were happy to fly in mild conditions, and we had a fantastic experience with our knowledgeable pilot, Adam, over the Misty Fjords. At least we did manage to get a refund from Alaska Shore Excursions.
The float plane ride and the breathtaking glacier views were truly an extraordinary experience. It provided insight into local life, as we flew on a plane that serves as the postal service. The aerial perspective revealed so much beauty.
The van arrived promptly next to the visitor center for pickup. At the plane, we received safety instructions, and our pilot, Sean, was exceptional. He was very skilled, experienced, and had extensive knowledge about the region, explaining everything we observed in this incredible area. After we landed, he took photos of each of us with the plane. We highly recommend this adventure.
The flight was truly breathtaking, and the crew was very welcoming. However, I was disappointed to find that the advertised duration of 2 hours includes transportation to and from the tourist center, while the actual flight lasted only 1 hour.
The day was wonderfully sunny, making for a smooth ride, and the photos I captured during the trip turned out amazing.
The staff met us at the dock by the bronze statue for our floatplane transfer. The views were incredible, bringing us up close to the hills and snow-capped mountains. We spent just over an hour in the air during the two-hour experience. Throughout the flight, we enjoyed commentary and music through headphones. We were on a larger plane accommodating ten passengers, with one seat next to the pilot. Blankets were provided for the back seats due to some chilly winds from the door, so it's best to board early for a front seat if possible. This is definitely a bucket list experience worth recommending. Be sure to have your cameras ready.
This experience was truly fantastic, and our pilot played a big role in that. We captured numerous videos and photos along the way, and the pilot provided a wealth of information.
