Two hours of guided self-driving in Zodiacs — explore historic sites and wildlife in Ketchikan's scenic waters, with waterproof gear provided.
This two-hour adventure begins at the downtown Ketchikan dock, just minutes from the cruise terminals. You'll navigate the rich waters of Southeast Alaska in your own Zodiac boat, following a guide and taking in key sights such as Historic Creek Street and the Saxman Native Village totem poles.
Expect to see bald eagles, seals, sea lions, and possibly humpback whales or orca pods while zipping across the water. The route varies, but typically includes several stops for a closer look at the scenery and wildlife. Waterproof bibs, jackets, boots, gloves, and dry bags are provided for your comfort.
This self-driving tour allows up to four guests per boat, and if you’re a couple, you may be paired with another couple. Participants must be 21 or older to drive.

I had a wonderful experience. The driver to the facility, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall, was fantastic and shared a wealth of knowledge about Ketchikan while being very friendly. Danielle was excellent as well, providing clear instructions on how to operate the boat and staying with us to offer plenty of information.
I had an incredibly fun time! The Zodiac was simple to navigate. The sights were breathtaking, even though we didn't see any whales. Our guide, Danielle, was superb—she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed great snacks at the lodge, and Teddy was excellent in transporting us to and from the ship.
Teddy and Danielle were fantastic and quite welcoming. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the water and truly experience a bit of Alaska up close.
The zodiac tour was fantastic! With our guide Danielle, we explored some off-the-beaten-path locations and were even lucky enough to spot a pod of humpback whales. I’m very thankful for this experience.
This was an incredible experience. Our large group enjoyed the zodiac tour with a fantastic guide named Danielle. We even got to take turns piloting the boats, which added to the fun. This is undoubtedly the best tour in Ketchikan and worth much more than the price we paid. Don't miss out on this chance.
I recently experienced an incredible trip! I'm really grateful to Danielle, Forrest, and Cole for organizing everything. They even arranged for us to see some whales, making it truly unforgettable.
We had an amazing time! This tour is a must if you're in Alaska. We spotted whales and eagles and truly enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend!
The trip was excellent, with a focus on professionalism and safety. Danielle, our guide, was outstanding. We visited the historic Loring canning area, established in 1885, and enjoyed more high-speed boating, even spotting humpback whales.
Don't let the cost deter you from this experience. It turned out to be the highlight of our recent trip to Canada and Alaska. Our team was welcoming, and our local driver provided excellent recommendations for places to visit after the tour. We were picked up from the cruise terminal and taken on a 30-minute ride to Salmon Falls Lodge, where the boat excursion started. We were equipped with rubber boots and waders to keep dry, although the weather was perfect with calm seas. We dressed warmly for the boat ride, as the RHIBs with 40HP engines were in great condition and offered self-drive tours with clear instructions. There were only three guests, and the guide, Danyel, was very knowledgeable, pointing out seals and bald eagles during the nearly 2.5-hour trip. The tour concluded at Salmon Falls Lodge with a "Feast" featuring large platters of crab, salmon, and hummus dips alongside drinks, all included in the price. Regardless of the weather, this trip is absolutely worth it; just make sure to dress appropriately and enjoy exploring the area from your own boat.
This experience was unforgettable. Although we only spotted a few bald eagles, exploring the stunning waters was incredible. Our boat guide Danielle shared a wealth of local knowledge, and Teddy, who transported us to and from Ward’s Cove to the resort where the Zodiacs departed, was exceptionally friendly and positive, making us feel comfortable throughout. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
