This tour was ideal for our family, especially with teenagers. Simone crafted an exceptional itinerary that included beautiful hotels, delicious dining, and a variety of activities like spa visits, museums, hikes, the sky bridge, and the mountain coaster. Everything was meticulously organized, with excellent communication both prior to and during the trip. Simone provided clear instructions that made it easy for us to explore independently. Our drivers were punctual and helpful, and our walking guides were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. We feel fortunate to have discovered Black Forest Tours and this stunning region. We definitely plan to return.
This trip offered stunning views connecting two lovely cities. I wholeheartedly suggest this experience to anyone. It's genuinely one of the most breathtaking locations in Europe.
The tour of the Black Forest, stretching from Baden-Baden to Freiburg, was exceptional. This full-day trip included stunning lakes, majestic mountains, quaint towns, and rich local culture. Our knowledgeable guide made the long drive pleasant with engaging facts and anecdotes. We genuinely felt we experienced the essence of the Black Forest in a single day. I highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking a thorough and unforgettable adventure.
During our research back home in Sydney, Australia, we discovered that Black Forest Tours was the best fit for us, as they offered a personalized experience tailored to our preferences. We spent eight days exploring the Black Forest, staying in three different towns without revealing their names, as Simone crafts each journey to match individual requests. Our itinerary changed shortly before departure when accommodation opened up in one of Simone's favored towns, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We began our adventure in Freiburg. With a private tour, we could easily make spontaneous stops whenever something caught our eye. Guides in two towns provided insightful walking tours with excellent English. They shared captivating history and led us through back streets we would have otherwise overlooked. One guide even shared insights about her home as we passed by. Traveling between towns in a car, our driver enriched our experience with knowledge about the countryside, small towns, and unique features. We made an intriguing stop at a Cuckoo Clock shop where we learned about the art of wood carving and clock mechanics. We enjoyed walks to waterfalls, encountered squirrels, and marveled at breathtaking mountain views of vineyards while witnessing grape harvesting and exploring historic buildings and churches. When not on the road, Simone supplied us with detailed booklets and brochures for self-guided activities. We took full advantage of our free Konus card for trains, visiting the Open Air Farmhouse Museum conveniently located near a train station. The museum showcased original buildings from various periods, making for an enjoyable day with easy walking and a pleasant restaurant for lunch. We also ventured on day trips using trains and buses, although we faced rainy weather in Freudenstadt, limiting our exploration of the town. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the plaza adorned with flower beds, fountains, and an intriguing Protestant church surrounded by shops and cafes. Spending three days and four nights in each town allowed us ample time to appreciate the sights and rest, making for a remarkable visit to a beautiful and unique area of Germany.
The Belle Epoch hotel offered a fantastic old-world charm and is conveniently located within walking distance of the town center, where cobblestone streets are filled with shopping and dining options. I cherished every moment of our two-night stay, and the spa bath was another highlight.
My family's genealogical research took us to Baden-Baden and the Black Forest, and we were thrilled to book a private tour with Black Forest Tours during our first trip to Germany as a family of four. It turned out to be our favorite day of our entire 17-day journey. Simone, the owner, crafted an exceptional personalized itinerary based on our interests. Our day started by visiting the oldest church in Baden-Baden, where fourteen of my ancestors are buried, and was highlighted by the surprising visit to the Hohenbaden Castle Ruins, once home to my family. We then drove along the upper Black Forest highway heading to Freiburg, stopping to explore Triberg and its famous waterfalls. One of our sons, Erik, even bought a cuckoo clock to ship home. The additional sights and unexpected stops throughout the day enriched our understanding of the area's history and made our experience truly memorable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with Black Forest Tours.
As a travel agent, I created an excellent itinerary for my clients with help from Simone, the local guide. She has been fantastic to work with due to her professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency. Her local insights and suggestions were spot on. The entire planning and booking process was seamless, and I was kept updated throughout. I can't wait to hear about my clients' experiences in the Black Forest. Jodie @ Flight Centre Dubbo.
We had a strong desire to explore the Black Forest, and this tour exceeded our expectations. Simone was incredible; she quickly felt like part of our family. I can't praise her and the experience enough and will be recommending this tour to all my family and friends.
