This trip was fantastic! It lasted over 4 hours because we made numerous stops to enjoy the sights and beautiful viewpoints. The tour guides shared engaging stories and quiz questions that were a little cheesy but truly enjoyable, even for my 10-year-old son. We highly recommend Tripvia.
I was unable to connect the vehicle's radio system to hear the tour, whether with or without a cable. Spotify would play music over the tour instead. The Tripvia representative mentioned this is a common issue with certain vehicle radios, and I suspect it's a problem with the application. I was informed that a specific "osz" cable was necessary for the connection, which I believe is a headphone cable. As a result, we had to listen to the tour through the iPhone's speakers, and we often had to replay parts to understand the narration. Additionally, the tour did not correspond with our location, with misleading instructions such as telling us to look northeast while we were heading southwest, which is impractical while driving. At one point, the tour mentioned a waterfall near an exit we had already passed. Tripvia did offer a refund, but I would have appreciated being warned that Spotify could interfere with the tour beforehand, as I dislike purchasing something that has known compatibility issues.
I gained a lot of knowledge about the local area. I wish there had been some music playing between the points of interest.
It's advertised as a product that works without using data, but while it does show your location on the map, it doesn't play the recorded information. Instead, you have to read it yourself. I'm disappointed with this purchase.
The information provided was good, but the loud sound effects were distracting. While navigating the mountainous roads, the unexpected horn sound when a new site appeared startled us so much that I ended up turning off the tour.
