I purchased this excursion for my wife, son, and daughter-in-law. When the pilot inquired if anyone was a pilot, my wife mentioned that our son is in flight school for his commercial certificate. The pilot then stated that he wouldn't allow any pilot to sit in the front with him, choosing a random woman instead. This left my family feeling disheartened and belittled. We definitely won't return or recommend this experience.
What an amazing bucket list adventure! The afternoon included informative narration during our seaplane flight, which took off and landed right by our cruise ship. We enjoyed stunning views of mountains, water, and several glaciers before landing at Taku Lodge for lunch. We had ample time to appreciate and explore the stunning property and Taku Glacier. After lunch, we could either relax or go for a brief nature hike. The host family and their staff were incredibly nice.
The views were incredible, and the food served at the lodge was excellent. Riding in a float plane was a truly enjoyable experience.
Maddie, the pilot, was fantastic and assisted my husband with ALS in boarding the plane. He managed to disembark with some difficulty, but he did it. Zac at the lodge was great, sharing his knowledge and telling entertaining stories. The staff really took care of us. Nick led us on a trail hike to a waterfall that was not always active, but they turned on the water just for us. I stayed back with my husband while the group visited the falls. Later, my daughter and Nick took me to see the waterfall while our friends stayed with my husband. We even had the chance to watch a bear named Hans who was in the tree until his salmon dinner was ready when he made his way to the grill for the drippings. The entire staff was incredible. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
What a fantastic adventure! The float plane flight offered stunning views of the glaciers. Taku Lodge was the ideal location, featuring a delicious lunch and a nature walk led by Nic, who was incredibly knowledgeable. We were even treated to a sighting of a black bear. The return flight to Juneau capped off a perfect day.
The seaplane flight was smooth and comfortable, even for someone with a fear of heights. The views of the glaciers from above were breathtaking. The landscape was stunning, and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable.
This excursion was truly the best we have ever taken. Our pilot Brian was fantastic; he provided a smooth and insightful flight and was enjoyable to chat with. At the Taku Lodge, we savored delicious salmon and chicken, along with tasty bread and side dishes. The ginger cookies were exceptional. Our hosts, Olivia and Zach, made us feel at home, and Olivia shared a captivating story about the lodge’s history. After dinner, Nick led us on an informative and fun tour of Sometimes Falls. Thank you for the wonderful experience! We are four adults aged 60-72.
Our seaplane experience was fantastic, enhanced by stunning weather. The views were incredible, and our stop at Take Glacier Lodge was delightful. The staff were warm and accommodating, and the food was delicious, reflecting their commitment to upholding the lodge's traditions.
Words and images fail to capture the experience. The entire team at Wings Airways was outstanding. Logan served as our pilot, while Nick acted as our naturalist guide. Zach and the lodge staff were wonderful, and we even spotted Hans, a local bear, nearby—an incredible sight in the wild. The food was exceptional, and the staff friendly. The views were so stunning that I struggle to express their beauty.
This was a fantastic adventure. Wings Airways was very well organized, and our pilot John was outstanding—friendly, professional, and provided a smooth flight. Taku Lodge is a must-visit, and don't skip the brief hike with Nick after dinner to see the waterfall and enjoy the beautiful nature walk. The bears added to the experience!
