Reviews
This local tour company offers the best whale-watching experience. They have a unique boat that allows you to walk around the deck fully. TJ and Andrew provided informative commentary about conservation and regulations. When they learned about orcas to the north, they promptly took us to see them, along with breathtaking views and other wildlife. Their enthusiasm and laid-back style made for a fun trip on a small boat. I highly recommend this experience with just 28 passengers, ensuring everyone had a good view. During our ride to the dock, James shared helpful local insights and we spotted a bear family and bald eagles. This adventure definitely exceeded my expectations.
This tour is definitely worth doing. The glacier is impressive, and I suggest taking the walk to the falls. It's a bit lengthy but not overly challenging.
The driver was readily available at the port, and locating them was easy. During our ride to Juneau, they shared plenty of interesting information about the area. They were fantastic.
Wayne was an excellent driver and provided insightful commentary about the city and surrounding areas. We appreciated having our own time to explore and enjoy the sights. The trail had some icy and slushy spots, so wearing sturdy shoes is advisable. Bring water and be ready for some walking; the path is relatively flat, making it suitable for various ages and those with good mobility.
Troy was fantastic. The journey was delightful, with the glacier and waterfalls being truly breathtaking. To top it off, we were greeted by a Black Bear, reminding us of the wild beauty around us.
We initially struggled to find the shuttle as it wasn't marked with the Viator name, since it was operated by a third-party. However, once we located them, the ride was excellent.
Troy Ford was wonderful, engaging, and prioritized safety. He shared some excellent and humorous stories. The scenery at Glacier was stunning.
Wayne was our driver and guide, and he did an outstanding job. He was punctual and had great knowledge. The trolley was also clean and comfortably warm.
The tour primarily involved a straightforward drive to the glacier. While we appreciated our driver, we expected more highlights along the way. Due to the rain, we missed several points of interest, such as the Governor’s mansion.
This tour provides a ride to the glacier visitor center from the cruise port. The trolley was charming and new, and the driver was friendly and engaging. Keep in mind that you'll have two hours from your drop-off (the ride takes about 15 minutes). You'll take the same trolley back after your visit. It's not a full three hours at the glacier center or "unlimited" time. If you plan to hike to Nugget Falls, you'll need to move quickly. The entrance fee situation was unclear; there were signs indicating a five-dollar ticket, but it wasn’t clear if that cost was included in our excursion. Additionally, not all ships dock directly at the main Juneau dock. We were at the AJ dock and opted to shuttle in, as walking involved an uphill path along a road. This could affect your timing if you're arriving on a cruise ship. There may be other transportation options available that are cheaper, but we appreciated the convenience of this excursion, avoiding worries about bus schedules or missing our ship. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, although we felt a bit rushed at first. We made it to Nugget Falls at a steady pace and still had time for photos.
