What a fantastic experience! Being so close to the glacier was truly awe-inspiring—the views were remarkable, and the hike struck a perfect balance between challenge and reward. It's one thing to admire a glacier from a distance, but being right next to it is a memory I will cherish forever. Our guide was exceptional—approachable, well-informed, and genuinely passionate about his work. He ensured the entire experience was enjoyable, engaging, and hassle-free, attending to all our needs along the way. His dynamic spirit really enhanced the tour and transformed it into more than just a hike. I particularly appreciated the second hot drink after the rain.
We participated in the Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour and it was an incredible experience. Our guides, Issy and Luke, were fantastic—very knowledgeable, engaging, and shared many fascinating facts that enhanced our experience. We paddled roughly 5 miles, and they ensured everything went well while maintaining a lively atmosphere throughout. We couldn't have asked for more exceptional guides—truly outstanding! I highly recommend this tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The weather was mostly clear with just a few light showers. Our guides, Luke and Jordan, were excellent, offering a wealth of knowledge about the glacier, local plants, wildlife, and regional stories. They supplied all necessary rain gear, including tall boots. The glacier was breathtaking, and it's no longer visible from the visitor center or falls, requiring a 3-hour hike or canoe trip. Our group was fantastic, and we made good time, allowing us extra moments at our destination. The warm drinks on the way back were a delightful touch.
The rainforest trail we explored during the 4-hour guided walk was stunning. Our guide, Daniel Bauer from Gastineau Guiding, was enthusiastic and dedicated. The trail was well-maintained, and we gained a lot of knowledge. It was a challenging trek, with significant elevation gain over rocky terrain and a final staircase of nearly 200 steps, which may not be ideal for those with knee or hip issues. We enjoyed breathtaking views of the Glacier, scenic waterfalls, and even saw salmon in the river. Highly recommended.
This tour was fantastic! It offers the best opportunity to experience the glacier up close. The waterfall and lake were stunning, and canoeing was enjoyable as well. Our guides, Issy and Jonathan, were excellent and very knowledgeable. Liquid Alaska Tours deserves high praise!
I had a fantastic experience! Izzy and Jonathan were very knowledgeable, clearly passionate about their work. I would suggest this tour to anyone wanting a unique way to learn about Juneau.
The pick-up was seamless, and we had a brief ride to the lake where we received our gear. Mason and the team helped us get into the canoe. Be ready for a workout as it involves some paddling, but it’s completely worth it. We paddled close to the glacier, disembarked for an informative discussion about it, and enjoyed a “rock talk” that was quite fascinating before searching for gems. We captured some fantastic photos with the glacier in the background. On our return, we stopped by the impressive falls. While we missed seeing the porcupines, we spotted many bald eagles. Even the rain at the end couldn’t spoil our enjoyment. This tour was the highlight of our journey.
The experience was fantastic, with excellent explanations. The tour guide had a friendly demeanor that created a pleasant atmosphere.
I had an amazing experience on the Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour with Jordan and Mike. They were very knowledgeable and humorous, ensuring that the adventure felt both safe and thrilling. Their passion for the job was evident. We learned a great deal while enjoying ourselves, and the stunning glacier views added to the unforgettable experience. This was definitely one of the standout moments of our trip to Alaska, and I highly recommend joining them for a tour.
Brady and Miller were exceptional guides who provided us with a wealth of information about everything we encountered. We felt completely at ease in the canoe with them. Experiencing the glacier up close was truly remarkable, and I highly recommend this tour.
