Visiting the Glacier is an essential experience in Juneau. Our guides were fantastic, and we even took a brief detour in hopes of seeing some whales. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a fantastic experience, getting an up-close look at icebergs, glaciers, and wildlife. The captain expertly navigated the comfortable boat near mountain goats, bears, and whales, as well as stunning glaciers and waterfalls. Our naturalist, Maya, was engaging and knowledgeable, while deckhand Ben was impressive, even providing us with cocktails made from glacier ice. They truly exceeded our expectations by retrieving floating ice for our enjoyment. This has been the highlight of our cruise/land trip so far, with one final tour scheduled for tomorrow.
The weather could not have been better, thanks to their excellent planning. The captain and crew made the most of the nice conditions, rushing to Tracy Arm where we enjoyed ample time near the glacier and visited a few waterfalls. On the return trip, when we encountered whales, the captain slowed down, allowing us to fully appreciate the sight. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly, contributing to a wonderful atmosphere.
This tour is definitely worth it, even in rainy weather. We were able to view numerous waterfalls thanks to the heavy rain. The boat was clean, modern, and comfortable throughout the 7-hour journey. Restrooms were well-maintained. Our onboard naturalist was friendly and informative, sharing plenty of educational insights. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. Our son loved the Shirley Temple made with glacier ice that the crew used for drinks. We would definitely take this tour again.
This tour was fantastic; the fjord is truly breathtaking and makes the journey worthwhile. Additionally, we were the first ship to arrive after the 100-foot tsunami that occurred on August 10.
Although we began our journey on a foggy and rainy day, visibility improved significantly within two hours, revealing stunning mountains, ice floes, and lush trees. The narration was outstanding, and the included lunch was also great. I have no complaints.
My recent trip to Tracy Arm was incredible, easily one of my favorites. Captain Dan skillfully navigated us through the ice, which had increased after the landslide/tsunami two weeks before. Maya, our naturalist, was both charming and knowledgeable, providing excellent information and entertainment. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and saw numerous humpback whales. The South Sawyer glacier was particularly active with calving, more than I've witnessed in years of visiting. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
What a magnificent experience. We weren't part of a cruise and sought to avoid the usual tourist activities. The boat was roomy and well-maintained, with an excellent all-female crew. For those prone to motion sickness, it was not a problem at all due to the perfectly calm waters. Even if there had been swells, it felt similar to being on a large whale-watching vessel. We enjoyed the option to relax on the lower deck or head to the top deck. There were plenty of whales to see, and we truly appreciated the peaceful beauty of it all.
The cruise through Tracy Arm Fjord was an extraordinary experience. The crew, including the captain, demonstrated an impressive depth of knowledge regarding the area's geology and environment. I gained a lot of insight during the trip. They made a special detour to show us the North Sawyer glacier and even retrieved a small piece of iceberg for us to enjoy with our drinks. Along the way, we observed humpback whales feeding, and I was thrilled to see four flukes dive in succession. Being the only ones in that part of the fjord added to the uniqueness of the adventure.
This was an outstanding full-day tour. Every aspect of the day was remarkable, and the staff truly made it unforgettable.
