Incredible atmosphere and attentive service. It felt like a large family gathering without any of the typical drama. I was pleasantly surprised to find BBQ ribs were included.
I spent a week in Juneau and visited this place once. It was amazing! The scenic walk offered great photo opportunities, and the small waterfall was lovely. The guitarist played beautifully, and the food was outstanding. However, driving ourselves was a significant error as there was no parking. Buses constantly arrived, making it hard to find a spot. Four out of six in our group had gluten-free diets, and they provided excellent options. My son particularly enjoyed the BBQ ribs, which seemed to have a gluten-free sauce. Overall, it was fabulous!
Clark, our bus driver, was excellent! He shared a wealth of information about Alaska's history and was very considerate, even offering me his coat when I was feeling chilly. The food was delightful, and the outdoor heaters made the experience much more comfortable.
Our family enjoyed the atmosphere, though we found the food price per person to be quite steep. The transport system faced some challenges; drivers didn't count passengers properly while boarding, leading some to have to exit and miss the chance to catch the next bus, which was already filling up. Thankfully, the buses ran frequently, but the process could have been more efficient.
The location is lovely, with a great selection of food that adds to the experience. The waterfall at the back makes for fantastic photo opportunities. Ending the visit with some roasted bonbons is a perfect touch.
The pick-up point was straightforward to find in the city, and the guide was easy to identify. The food offered was abundant and delicious, and the addition of live entertainment made the experience even better. I highly recommend this excursion.
The salmon lacked flavor, which was surprising for Alaska. Cooking it over an open fire didn't improve it. While the other food was slightly better, it still resembled what you'd find in a hospital cafeteria. Considering the cost, it feels more like a tourist trap and isn't worth it.
Disappointing doesn't capture the experience, as the tour operator failed to show up despite email confirmation. I advise cruise passengers against using this company. Our ship was delayed for medical reasons, and the operator assured us they adjusted our excursion time. However, when we arrived, there was no one from the tour operator present. Contacting them yielded no empathy; they claimed they couldn't help since we booked through another platform. This left us frustrated and feeling disregarded. I cannot recommend this company, and fellow cruise passengers should weigh their options carefully before booking. It's worth noting that we've had many successful excursions before, but this was the first significant issue, with no blame on the booking platform.
The experience was fantastic overall, despite the rain and chilly weather. The food was exceptional, and the staff we met were also very pleasant.
Although the food was slightly cold and the rain added a chill to the outdoor atmosphere, the overall experience was still fantastic. Danny, our guide, was delightful and made the outing memorable.
