Upon reaching dog camp, Lyssa, our musher, gave us excellent guidance and shared a wealth of information about her team of dogs. Without a doubt, this was a top-tier adventure that will be hard to surpass in the future.
Our helicopter ride over the Mendenhall glacier was amazing. Landing on the glacier allowed us to meet the dogs and enjoy a sleigh ride with them. The scenery was stunning, and the staff were very friendly, making it a safe experience.

It was a disappointment as it got canceled at the last minute while we were about to board the bus. We had organized our entire trip around this activity, leaving us with no time to book an alternative.
I booked the experience and called that morning to check if it was still happening due to the bad weather. I was informed it would be decided hourly, but upon arrival, I learned there were no dog sledding trips that day. Instead, we were offered an alternative to view a single glacier. If we had known sooner that the dog sledding was canceled, we could have arranged another activity, leaving us with only shopping to occupy our day in Juneau. On the bright side, we received a full refund.
This was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. While it’s quite pricey, it's worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I could have spent the entire day and night there. It will stay with me forever.
Eileen, my musher, was fantastic and demonstrated great knowledge about the dogs. John kept us entertained on the return trip to Juneau. However, our pilot Caleb was silent during the helicopter ride, which was disappointing. I had flown the day before and was familiar with the area, but the couple with me lacked that context. While he ensured a safe ride, it would have been enjoyable to learn more about the glaciers we passed over.
This experience is truly one of a kind. The tour staff and guides displayed a high level of professionalism. We enjoyed a wonderful day on the glacier interacting with the dogs. I wholeheartedly recommend this outing; it’s absolutely worth the expense.
