• The sacred temples of Osian were part of a major trading hub from the 8th to the 12th centuries. Presently, it serves as a desert oasis housing sixteen Brahmanical and Jain temples, many of which have withstood the test of time. Notable among these are the functional Sachchiya Mata Temple and Mahavir Jain Temple. • Following Osian, a drive through the countryside takes you 75 km to Phalodi, known for its intricately carved Havelis and temples. Close by is KHICHAN village, known for attracting large flocks of Demoiselle Cranes (locally referred to as Kurja), which visit for about 5 to 6 months due to favorable conditions and the protection offered by local residents. This annual migration features prominently in many folk songs. • The journey concludes with a drop-off at your location in Jaisalmer City.
