In addition to the thrill of the rapids, this journey provides opportunities to appreciate the stunning scenery and spot local wildlife. The best time to go is during the high-water season from mid-June to late July when the river’s flow is at its peak, making for a more intense experience.

Initially, my wife was reluctant to join and voiced her concerns for a week, but she ended up having a fantastic time. We had an exhilarating adventure navigating the grade 3 rapids this morning with our guide Danny from Nelson, NZ, along with his teammates Ty and Austin. The weather was perfect and although the water was cold, Danny kept us engaged by guiding us through the rapids and around rocks. All the equipment provided was in excellent shape.
I highly recommend this company and the Sunwapta Challenge. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel secure. Our guide Luke was excellent, and our group of six adults had a wonderful time. We were even planning our next tour as we walked back from the river.
