This experience was truly one of a kind. Walking on the glacier allowed us to see the incredible shapes and colors of the ice up close. Our expert guide Rupert shared fascinating stories about the glacier's history and composition. Our group of friends agreed that Rupert was the best guide we encountered during our month in Canada, thanks to his knowledge, experience, and friendly demeanor.
This was an incredible adventure that exceeded all my expectations. Cece, our guide, really enhanced the experience with her extensive knowledge of the glacier and the ice ages that shaped it. When I experienced vertigo during the hike, she was very supportive, ensuring I felt safe and providing useful hiking tips for the future. I am truly grateful for this entire experience.
The owner provided excellent assistance with my booking. Stu, our guide, was fantastic, making sure our ice walk was memorable, safe, and professional. I appreciate such a wonderful day.
The hike involved quite a lengthy trek just to reach the ice. Two friends in their 70s, who are generally fit, found the hike challenging and decided to turn back. It could be attributed to the higher altitude.
Extremely informative. I would certainly recommend it. We received an additional waterproof layer and spikes, which made our hike easier.
Tracey was an excellent guide who had extensive knowledge about the glacier and its ecosystem. I would gladly take this tour again, specifically with her.
This experience was incredible. Be aware that this tour involves hiking, which I underestimated seven months after a significant knee surgery. About 45 minutes in, I realized I had chosen something too challenging as it includes steep trails and three hours of uphill and downhill sections on uneven terrain. Our guide, Guillaume, went out of his way to ensure I could still enjoy the tour, and I appreciate his assistance immensely. If you're able to hike, I highly recommend this tour! It's a fantastic way to witness stunning glacier events. Request Guillaume as your guide; he provides valuable insights, prioritizes safety, and makes the experience truly memorable and worth the cost.
Our family created unforgettable memories with IceWorks during the 3-hour Guided Glacier Hike on The Athabasca. With only seven others after the larger group split, we received personal attention from our guide, Tamara, who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. She was excellent at answering my son's numerous questions and encouraged his curiosity. Although hiking on a glacier might seem daunting, anyone who can walk, follow instructions, and is open to learning—along with friendly hike companions—will find this experience enjoyable. I came back eager to explore more offerings from IceWorks and Tamara.
Tamara was an incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who made the experience enjoyable. The 5km trek is quite easy, and despite the cold temperatures, it was manageable thanks to the gear provided by the company.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our guide was not only friendly but also extremely knowledgeable. She led us to areas of the glacier that we wouldn't have accessed by ourselves. We spent several hours exploring the glacier, which was much more than we could have managed on a special vehicle tour. It was definitely worth the cost. They also provided crampons, gloves, hats, and other gear for those who needed them. This was certainly a standout moment of our trip to Banff and Jasper.
