• The fort was established by the descendants of Lord Krishna and is situated in the heart of the city. Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Golden Fort, is an 870-year-old living fort home to around 4000 residents. The exploration includes the King's and Queens' Palaces as well as the scenic streets within the fort. • Gadisar Lake was the sole water source for the town and features stunning architecture, with many films shot in its vicinity. Built in the 14th century by Maharwal Gadsi Singh, this man-made lake served to store water for the entire town. The lake is encircled by intricately carved Chattris, Temples, Shrines, and Ghats, and it has historical significance as the main water supply for Jaisalmer in earlier times. • Nathmal Haveli is a unique architectural gem from the late 19th century, previously the residence of the Prime Minister. Known for its remarkable artistry, it is regarded as one of the finest in Jaisalmer. The structure results from the collaborative efforts of two brothers, Hathi and Laalu, who worked on different sections concurrently, leading to a mirrored yet distinct design. The exquisite engravings were created based on descriptions from those who had seen the intended motifs, rather than from firsthand accounts. • Patwa Haveli is recognized as the most beautiful palace in Jaisalmer, built for millionaire Jain traders. Constructed from Jaisalmer sandstone, its façade is embellished with jaalis and intricate designs, showcasing the wealth of its owners. The most prominent is Patwon-ki-Haveli, a complex of five adjacent houses built by five Jain brothers in the early 19th century, the sons of textiles and precious metals trader Guman Chand. • The Haveli of Diwan Salam Singh was notable for being associated with the most infamous prime minister of Jaisalmer Riyasat.
