What's the itinerary?+
• Arrive at the office 15 minutes early before departure for check-in, signing waivers, restroom use, and browsing the shop. It is advisable to dress in layers for potentially cool mornings and consider bringing sunglasses. Binoculars are recommended for eagle watching. After everyone is checked in, board the bus for a brief journey to Wilson Bridge, where the launch site is located. • The scenic float launches from this historic village at the base of Teton Pass. From Wilson Bridge, the trip begins with a tranquil 13-mile journey towards South Park Landing. This section is cherished locally for its picturesque "braided channels" of the Snake River, which offers a calm experience as opposed to the challenging waters in the National Park, allowing you to unwind and appreciate the Bald Eagle habitat and changing landscapes. • Be ready with your cameras as you launch from Wilson, as the opening segment provides stunning, unobstructed views of the Grand Teton, Middle Teton, and South Teton peaks. This portion delivers the ideal "postcard moment" before entering the river channel where the emphasis shifts to wildlife and water. • The river flows through exquisite national forest areas, which serve as a prime nesting environment for Bald Eagles and Osprey in the contiguous United States. Stay alert for sightings of these birds as you drift along! • As the Teton Mountains recede, the river meanders along the foothills of the Snake River Range, showcasing a gentler, forested landscape in contrast to the rugged park peaks, especially vivid in spring when snow persists at higher elevations. You will traverse a mix of wild cottonwood areas and picturesque private ranches, providing a relaxing conclusion to your journey on this designated Wild and Scenic River, which protects the clear waters and native cutthroat trout habitat. • Upon completing the 13-mile adventure, you will arrive at the Southpark Boat Ramp, located in the scenic southern region of the valley where the Snake River's gentle currents touch the shore. The professional shuttle team will assist with disembarking from the raft and transitioning back to land. Take a moment to appreciate the impressive Snake River Range and expansive Wyoming sky before boarding the bus for a brief, comfortable return to town. • The shuttle returns you to your vehicle at the office, providing an opportunity to reflect on the wildlife and Teton views witnessed during your time on the water. Before departing for your next endeavor in Jackson Hole, you might want to visit the shop for a unique memento or talk with your guide to express your gratitude for their insights on the river.
