• The day begins at 9 am with pickup from your hotel or chosen location in Hyderabad for a full-day guided trip to the Weaving Village of Pochampally, located two hours away by car. The village offers a blend of tradition, modernity, culture, and history, and is renowned for its IKKAT textiles. Pochampally is famous for its sarees and surrounded by lush greenery and hills, recognized as part of a UNESCO world heritage site for its iconic saree weaving cluster in India. • Pochampally features traditional looms with designs over a century old. The local weaving technique, known as tie and dye, involves applying designs and colors to both warp and weft threads before weaving them together. Common fabrics include cotton, silk, and sico (a cotton and silk blend). More recently, natural sources have influenced colors, and interactions between consumers and weavers inspire new designs. Weavers, spanning both older and newer generations, have adapted to shifting consumer preferences. • Meet local weavers, engage with them about their lifestyle and the ikkat weaving process. Take a break for a traditional lunch (at your own cost), then visit the Pochampally museum followed by a leisurely walk by the lake and a stop at the House with 101 doors. • The tour concludes around 4 pm, with a return drive to Hyderabad and drop-off at your hotel or selected location by 6 pm.
