The experience didn't justify the expense or time invested. A considerable amount is spent traveling by bus, and I believe the tour should be priced between $79 and $99 at most. Our guide was excellent—knowledgeable and humorous—but the overall tour was average. Renting a car to explore on your own would be more beneficial, as we later did, because the time at each stop was limited. Additionally, the marketing was misleading; all admissions are free except for Waimea Falls. If you want to ride the Dole train tour, that requires an extra fee, despite the description implying it is included. Some locations were also omitted due to time constraints.
We had a fantastic time on the tour! Bill, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and organized, making it both informative and enjoyable. He truly embodied the essence of Hawaiian history.
