This was an incredible experience. The flights on a DeHavilland floatplane with Dave were fantastic, and there were plenty of bears at the falls.
This experience is a 100000 out of 10! I highly recommend it to everyone. The tour was incredible, with a smooth, safe, and comfortable flight. We went at just the right time in the afternoon when the crowds had dissipated, allowing us more time by the falls. We saw more bears than we could possibly count.
It was a fantastic adventure. The plane ride was smooth and offered incredible views. Observing the bears was truly remarkable. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.
This was the highlight of my Alaska trip! The tour was incredibly professional, and the guides were knowledgeable and attentive to safety. The natural sights were absolutely breathtaking.
The pilot was incredibly experienced and personable. I enjoyed every moment of the flight. I felt safe right from takeoff as we soared over stunning landscapes. The pilot provided clear instructions for landing. The encounter with the bears and the overall experience were outstanding.
The flight was lengthy, but it was definitely worthwhile. I spotted a few bears, and one even caught several fish, suggesting it had been feeding for a while.
I took a day trip with Rust's Flying Service to Brooks Camp to see brown bears feeding on salmon. During my 5 hours there, I spotted around 20 bears, including a mother with two cubs that greeted us on the beach. The bears were well dispersed along the river, and I learned there were about 20 float planes at the beach, with the pilot noting peak times could see 30 to 40 planes. The National Park Service did a great job managing the viewing experience, starting with an informative briefing and providing 30-minute timed windows at the falls for visitors. While I got two half-hour slots at the falls, I saw no bears during the second one, and although the number of bears at the falls was less than I anticipated, it was still an incredible experience.
While it may be pricey, the experience is well worth it for those who want to observe bears in their natural habitat rather than in a zoo.
The flight was fantastic, and our experience with the bears was incredible—truly unforgettable and thrilling! We would love to do this again.
This was a fantastic experience! The small plane ride with a friendly pilot was thrilling, though those with a fear of heights might find it daunting. The bear sightings were unforgettable. There was guidance on how to react during bear encounters since there was no guide along. We encountered a bear twice on the trail and had to step back behind trees, passing just five yards away—an extraordinary moment! At Brooks Falls, we watched bears catch and eat salmon from a safe viewing platform, making it easy to take photos without needing extreme zoom lenses. Highly recommend this adventure!
