Ho Chi Minh City has its own personality after dark — and it isn't the same in every neighbourhood. The list below covers the rooms we'd take a visiting friend to: a craft-beer pub for the early-evening pint, a rooftop with the view, a speakeasy where the staff still cares about the cocktail.
Most premium pubs in Ho Chi Minh City open by 6 PM and run until 1 AM (last call typically 45 minutes prior). Smart-casual works almost everywhere; some rooftops enforce closed-toe shoes. Most accept cards but a few of the older bars are cash-only — worth checking before you go.
