The overall experience was exceptional. The tour was well-organized and informative. Captain Dean displayed great knowledge of the local history and was eager to share it with everyone.
This tour was excellent, filled with fascinating details about the local wildlife and historical insights. There were also stops at local businesses, which added to the experience.
The experience was thoughtfully organized and provided deep insights into the island's history. I gained a lot of knowledge about marine life while traveling to the island, and the dolphins were quite lively that day. I recommend visiting in early spring for ideal weather.
We had a fantastic tour of Daufuskie Island with Captain Dean. The boat ride took about 45-60 minutes each way, and we spent 4.5 hours exploring. Our guide was well-informed, sharing insights during the boat ride and while we toured the island on golf carts. Notable stops included the Mary Field school, which had a nice gift shop and drink store, the Iron Fish metal sculpture store, and a Methodist church. The scenery was beautiful, and the information was engaging. Everyone in our group really enjoyed this experience. Highly recommended.
This tour far surpassed my expectations. Dean was an excellent guide and boat captain, sharing his local history in a fun and engaging manner that made it feel personal. I highly recommend this excursion, especially if you get Dean as your guide.
The trip was both relaxing and informative. It can get a bit cool and windy on the boat ride, so consider bringing a light jacket based on the weather.
The boat ride is quite lengthy, taking about an hour each way, but it's very pleasant. We spotted dolphins during the journey. Make sure to bring a jacket.
My first visit to Dufuskie was fantastic. I enjoyed every moment. Our guide, Bayard, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful.
This tour provides an insightful look into the history of African Americans, exploring the survival and evolution of Gullah traditions through the years. It highlights the journey from slavery to freedom and addresses the lessons that may not have been shared with younger generations.
Captain Andy shares an impressive amount of knowledge about the island and its history, making the trip both educational and enjoyable. We loved the boat ride and the scenery, especially seeing dolphins and a stingray. It’s a good idea to bring some snacks since the island has limited food options. The only letdown was not meeting the Gullah people.
