This is an essential tour on the Big Island; it's akin to visiting Paris and skipping the Eiffel Tower or missing Big Ben in London. The guide was very informative, and I adjusted the itinerary slightly to sidestep crowds and delays, which worked perfectly. We were able to see everything with fewer people around and had ample time to enjoy the sights and capture great photos.
Mike effectively communicated and was knowledgeable about Hilo, providing us with history and insights into our surroundings. Sadly, the weather wasn't on our side; clouds and fog hindered our view of the volcano. This was out of Mike's control, as we simply had poor weather on our cruise day.
The pickup was seamless right from the cruise port. We visited a black sand beach and stopped at a local market for made-to-order sandwiches to take to Volcano Park. We observed the crater from two different viewpoints and explored two trails, including a lava flow tunnel. The tour concluded at a chocolate factory. Our guide, Mike, was excellent and highly knowledgeable about the region.
This excursion was fantastic. Uncle Ernie was incredibly knowledgeable, and I had an amazing time. I almost didn't want to return to the cruise ship.
Auntie Karen provided an excellent tour experience. She not only covered all the necessary destinations but also accommodated a request to stop by Long's Drugstore for personal items. Our lunch was fantastic; my spouse and I enjoyed a chicken katsu platter while others had fish sandwiches. Auntie Karen shared engaging stories about island life and family gatherings, making the experience even more enjoyable. She is with Green Tours.
The sights were amazing, but our tour driver Marissa truly made the experience exceptional. She prioritized getting us to the Kilauea volcano, which erupted at 8 am, allowing us to witness this extraordinary event firsthand. It was a remarkable privilege to see during my first trip to Hawaii. The rest of the tour was enjoyable as well, with Marissa providing plenty of history and humor.

The scenery at Rainbow Falls was stunning, and Volcanoes National Park was impressive. We spotted sea turtles at one of the beaches. Our guide was very engaging, making for a pleasurable excursion.
This tour was an excellent way to spend the day, as we visited Volcano National Park and Rainbow Falls. Our guide, Cousin Ernie, was fantastic. He took us to Volcano National Park first to avoid the crowds, allowing us ample time to explore. We then returned to Hilo, where he showed us additional sights, and we had plenty of free time for lunch and shopping. As a native of the Big Island, Ernie had a wealth of information to share. I would definitely take this tour again.
