Our tour of the volcanoes with Mauka Makai was the absolute highlight of our two-week trip in Hawaii. We particularly loved her captivating tales of Hawaiian legends like Pele and Maui, which completely captivated our young pre-teen children. We were fortunate with beautiful weather for exploring the caldera, and Jill arranged the itinerary so that we often felt alone in the park—at times we were the only hikers and had the caldera viewpoint all to ourselves.
