This was an excellent guided tour that I thoroughly enjoyed. When you go, make sure to wear two or more pairs of socks and bring rain gear. While the eagles are seen from a distance, they are still beautiful to observe during the float. The bus ride to and from the location includes narration, making it an all-day experience.
Our day with Andy and Mark was incredible. The weather was perfect for an unforgettable rafting adventure on the Chilkat River. We spotted numerous eagles, bear tracks, salmon, and much more. Andy and Mark's expertise made the experience even better. We will certainly choose them again. It was the highlight of our Alaskan cruise.
This was an excellent rafting adventure with a fantastic guide. Andy was very knowledgeable and adaptable with the timing of the trip. We spotted many eagles, geese, and ducks along the way. The river scenery was stunning. Despite the windy conditions and some rain, our group of eight (four adults and four kids) had a wonderful time.
We arranged this excursion through our Holland America ship and had an incredible day on the river. The ferry journey from Skagway to Haines offered stunning views and great narration. The guides were friendly and well-informed about Alaska, the river, and the bald eagles. We enjoyed a sunny day and spotted numerous bald eagles, hanging out on the ground, perched in trees, soaring above us, and communicating with one another. We also observed two impressive nests. The scenery from the water was breathtaking, and the guides ensured we felt safe. A delicious lunch was included, featuring a chicken Caesar wrap, chips, and homemade cookies.
The guides were fantastic—very friendly and well-informed. We gained valuable insights about salmon and eagles. Despite the cold and rainy weather, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

This float trip was a fantastic experience. Our guide Andy demonstrated extensive knowledge of the local wildlife and area, plus his river skills were impressive. On our way, we spotted a bear and a moose, along with numerous bald eagles. The snack provided by our driver Leigh at the end was much appreciated. We loved that it was a small group, giving us plenty of space on the river. This was undoubtedly the highlight of our visit to Haines.

We were picked up from our lodging and taken about thirty minutes to the starting point, where we received fascinating details about the local wildlife and area. The rafting journey through the stunning countryside was incredibly peaceful. Although we didn't witness much eagle activity, we understand that it's not something that can be promised. I would love to do this again.
