The six-hour tour was fantastic. The scenic fast ferry ride from Skagway to Haines offered stunning views. I witnessed three incredible waterfalls and learned about how glaciers shaped the longest fjord in North America, Lynn Canal. The contrast of the Tongass National Forest against the vivid waters was striking. Christian, our guide, was exceptional; I loved learning about Tlingit culture, identifying birds, and discovering each bird’s unique abilities, along with entertaining Alaskan tales. There were plenty of eagles, and we enjoyed a delightful picnic lunch with views of Chilkoot Lake, where fish were jumping and birds were active. We even had a brief tour of Fort Seward, which I appreciated as a history enthusiast. Finally, we boarded the ferry for the return to Skagway. I highly recommend Christian and this tour for an amazing experience in Haines.
The scenery was stunning, and the guides were both excellent and knowledgeable. It was a fantastic experience, allowing us to appreciate the views while also getting some good exercise.
