What's the itinerary?+
• In the morning, following breakfast, there will be a drive in a luxury private vehicle. Upon arrival, an expert guide will join you for a sightseeing tour of the historic Gwalior Fort, constructed in the 8th century CE by Raja Maan Singh Tomar. Significant structures within the fort include Gurjari Mahal and Man Mandir, situated on Gopachal Hill. Gurjari Mahal was built by Raja Man Singh for his wife, Mrigyanayani, and has been transformed into a museum showcasing artifacts from Jain and Hindu religions. Man Mandir, also the work of Raja Man Singh, features intricate artwork on its walls. Other notable sites include Hathipol, Teli ka Mandir, Sas Bahu ka Mandir, Garuda Monument, Karan Mahal, Vikram Mahal, and an impressive Sikh temple honoring the sixth Sikh guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib. • After visiting Gwalior Fort, the next stop is Jai Vilas Palace, which was established in 1874 by Jivajirao Scindia. The royal descendants continue to live there, with part of the palace now serving as a public museum. This vast palace has over 400 rooms, and important galleries feature numerous exhibits, including a miniature silver train in the Durbar Hall used to serve royal guests. Also noteworthy are a sculpture of a hansa and a lady. Please note that the museum is closed on Mondays. • One of the most impressive temples in Gwalior is dedicated to the holy Sun God. Constructed in 1988 by industrialist G.D. Birla, it features a serene interior of marble. The striking red sandstone exterior contrasts beautifully with the lush green gardens that surround the temple. • Tighra Dam is a popular river site and an excellent destination for families, offering various boating activities such as speed boating. It is among the top attractions in Gwalior. Best time to visit: January to March and October to December Ticket charges: 50 INR/person for a speedboat; 50 INR/person for Jalpari Boat; 100 INR/person for a paddle boat; 350 INR/person for a water scooter • The tomb of a 16th-century Sufi saint is a significant site in Gwalior. He served as an advisor to King Babur and was a mentor to the renowned musician Tansen. The tomb is designed in a classic Mughal architectural style and is an excellent tourist attraction. • A museum dedicated to classical Indian music houses a collection of instruments, memorabilia, and hosts live performances. • An outdoor amusement park features a variety of themed rides and a large water play area complete with slides and fountains. • A small zoo, set in a garden-like environment, is home to a variety of animals, including snakes, birds, and a white tiger.
