This day trip takes you to an authentic family cacao farm located 50 km from Guayaquil. The tour includes a walk through the farm where you can see plantations of cacao, macadamia nuts, lemons, bananas, and exotic star fruit. You’ll have the opportunity to taste seasonal fruits picked directly from the trees during your visit.
A traditional farm-to-table lunch, prepared with organic ingredients harvested on-site, is also included, allowing you to savour the true essence of Ecuadorian cuisine. The invitation to a warm and rustic atmosphere makes this experience memorable. Suitable footwear is recommended for walking around the farm.

Our visit didn't align with what was advertised, as we ended up at a smaller farm with fewer facilities. We weren't able to see the complete chocolate-making process. Afterward, we headed to a town for lunch, which was not a farm-to-table experience. Although the guide was friendly, it felt like we were taken to a different place than anticipated. The tour was unstructured and appeared to be in the process of being developed as a new attraction.
We made a booking but missed our flight. When we attempted to change our reservation, we were informed we couldn't. It feels like our money was taken without any flexibility offered.
James was an outstanding guide. The farm was stunning, and we gained a lot of insight into chocolate production. The lunch provided at the "castle" was fantastic. I strongly recommend this experience.

I had an excellent experience visiting a farm where warm-hearted people enthusiastically showed us around. We even processed cocoa beans. After that, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant. The guide was gracious and very knowledgeable. This is a highly recommended way to spend a day and explore.
What a fantastic experience with a friendly and helpful group! We got to discover and interact with many unique plants and animals, including making chocolate from scratch. This is a truly special experience you can only have in Ecuador, and I'm glad I chose to do it. The tour guide was very communicative and flexible, making us feel informed, safe, and at ease throughout. I would love to participate in another tour if I return!
During a brief layover in Guayaquil after visiting the Galapagos islands, we discovered this fantastic day tour that truly surpassed our expectations. Our guide, Francisco, highlighted various points of interest during the drive, and the cocoa farm visit was fascinating. The Cumanda family, who runs the farm, made us feel very welcomed. We engaged in the chocolate-making process and developed a deeper appreciation for the effort it entails. Furthermore, Alexandra served an excellent “farm to table” lunch. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour, especially with Francisco as your guide.
