My wife and I were promptly picked up at 5:30 am from our hotel in Guayaquil. Our birding guides, Ivette Solis and Jorge Abad, provided an outstanding 4-hour tour of Cerro Blanco, followed by a comprehensive 1-hour review of the bird species we observed. Thanks to these two skilled guides, it was an exceptional half-day birding experience.
Danny, our guide, was exceptional—truly the best we've experienced. His expertise in birds, the dry forest, and various ecosystems was remarkable. This tour was the best we've ever taken, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It’s a wonderful spot for bird watching. The pick-up was punctual, and our guide Melany was very knowledgeable about the birds. We had a fantastic half day. Thank you, Melany!
Daniel, our guide, was outstanding. He had great knowledge about the birds, including their calls, songs, behavior, and history. Despite visiting during the rainy season on a wet day, we discovered 30 new bird species to add to eBird. Being outdoors always makes for a good day.
Our hotel pickup was smooth, and we were taken to Cerro Blanco, where we met our guide Daniel. He was knowledgeable and experienced, making our morning birdwatching in the reserve delightful. This hidden gem near Guayaquil is a must-visit for nature lovers. Thank you, Daniel, for a wonderful experience.
The hotel pickup was prompt, and the return from Cerro Blanco was equally timely. The bird guide displayed a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the outing.
This stunning dry forest reserve features a variety of walking and hiking trails suitable for different fitness levels; I opted for the approximately 1.5-hour route. Our guide, an enthusiastic biologist, had extensive knowledge about the park and its wildlife, particularly the birds. He is dedicated to conservation and has installed nine camera traps throughout the area. His insights into conservation and the challenges facing Ecuador were thoughtful, and he was very supportive during the tour. Overall, it was an excellent way to enjoy my time in Guayaquil.
Daniel is a fantastic birder, knowledgeable about bird songs and capable of mimicking them. In just four hours, we observed an incredible variety of birds. Cerro Blanco is merely 20 minutes from Guayaquil.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide, Daniel, showcased an impressive depth of knowledge and had excellent English skills. His familiarity with the birds of Cerro Blanco made the experience truly fulfilling. The dry forest habitat was quite quiet during our visit in early November, yet we successfully observed and photographed 39 species in roughly four hours. I highly recommend this tour.
Don't forget your binoculars! There are plenty of chances to observe a diverse range of bird species in Cerro Blanco.
