Participants can look forward to playing games that encourage focus and enthusiasm, all while exploring the natural surroundings of the Great Smoky Mountains. Activities include searching for salamanders in creeks, tasting wild foods, and enjoying the sounds and sights of the woods.

Brooke was amazing with my five-year-old daughter. She was very patient as my daughter counted the wildflowers that Brooke pointed out. They played a senses game, and she even let her taste some edible plants. Since we were the only ones on the walk, she was flexible with the start time, which suited us perfectly. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Lucy guided us on this hike along with our two five-year-olds, and it was fantastic. Her friendliness, knowledge, and patience made it special. Sampling the edible plants was definitely a highlight! It was an enjoyable experience for both the adults and the kids. I would certainly come back to join another hike with them.
Lucy was an excellent guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hike was stunning, featuring numerous streams, which made for a tranquil experience, perfect for families with children.
Ms. Debbie is fantastic! Her passion, patience, and expertise really stood out. Exploring the Great Smoky Mountains with her was a wonderful experience, and we gained plenty of intriguing historical insights. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a great time on this enjoyable and easy hike suitable for our young kids (aged 5-9), while also engaging our high schoolers and adults. We discovered park information, various plants and animals, the history behind the area, explored old cabins, admired waterfalls, and even played in the stream. An added bonus was that the kids completed their junior ranger requirements, allowing them to be sworn in at the Sugarlands visitor center afterward.
Luci was an excellent guide who made the experience enjoyable for both kids and parents. The kids had a fantastic time, and the tour allowed them to explore at their own pace while being informative and friendly.
My guide Mike was fantastic, very knowledgeable and enjoyable to be with. Patricia in the office put in great effort to organize everything for me. This is an excellent company to collaborate with.
We participated in two tours with A Walk in the Woods and highly recommend them. Luci, a former elementary school teacher, guided the Bear Cub tour and was exceptional. My 4-year-old was captivated from the story-time beginning through the crafting and educational walk. Luci led us to an easily accessible waterfall and shared extensive knowledge about local plants, animals, and the area's history. We also took the Exploring Nature with Children tour, and even though we were in a similar area as the previous day, our guide Mike made it feel entirely new. He quickly connected with our group and tailored our hike to explore different paths. Once again, we received valuable insights about the park and its natural surroundings without any repetition. Mike adjusted the pace to suit our group and focused on what captured my child's interest. Both tours were welcoming, informative, and conducted with professionalism. I would definitely recommend them.
Sam was an excellent guide. Her extensive knowledge engaged both the kids and adults throughout the hike.
Ms. Debbie was fantastic and extremely patient with my two grandsons, who can be quite a handful. She skillfully tailored her explanations about the area to both adults and children. I would highly recommend this experience!
