We joined Ken for a tour on October 8, and it was an excellent experience. After gathering at the Sugarlands Visitors Center, we drove briefly to the trailhead to begin our walk along the Little River. Ken shared his extensive knowledge about both the trail and the park, so we gained valuable insights. While we might have hiked alone, we would have missed out on the park's rich history. This tour is definitely worth it to understand how the Great Smoky Mountains became a National Park.
This tour fell short of our expectations. We had to drive our own car while following the guide, which didn't justify the $230 price. Honestly, a guide isn't necessary to reach Clingman’s Dome. The guide, a young woman, was pleasant, but it was too late for us to cancel.
The guide was friendly and well-informed about the trail, trees, and geology. He demonstrated great patience and took the time to provide explanations about the history and science of the area.
We scheduled three tours over three days, ranging from easy to moderate, and were thoroughly impressed. This company is highly professional, enthusiastic, responsive, friendly, informative, and enjoyable. After Hurricane Helene affected parts of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina, they closely monitored road and trail conditions and proactively emailed us to adjust our itinerary due to flooding. Their commitment to safety is commendable. Our guides, Kels and Deb, were fantastic, and we gained a lot of knowledge from them. In the heavily visited Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which sees millions of visitors annually, the hiking crowd is just a small fraction, leading to a lot of cars competing for parking. Choosing this company alleviates all those challenges. I highly recommend them!
The history of the park was captivating, and I particularly appreciated the insights on bears. Our guide Kelly was considerate of our age and demonstrated extensive knowledge about the local plant life.
I ventured outside my comfort zone for this tour, and it turned out to be quite beautiful. Our guide was excellent, and the other participants were enjoyable to be around.
The van was comfortable, not a bus, which made for a more pleasant experience. I appreciated the small group size, as it was much better than a large crowd. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and it was easy to hear her as well as other participants. Since our group consisted only of adults, it might not be the ideal option for families with children.
The experience was mediocre since our guide, Samantha from 'A Walk in the Woods,' omitted key locations like Kuwohi and Clingmans Dome Trail, citing traffic issues. Everyone arrived on time at the pickup, and had we known about the traffic, an earlier pickup would have been possible. Missing the most popular attractions in the Smoky Mountains was disappointing.
The experience was well-structured, and our guide Samantha was excellent. Her knowledge was impressive, and she provided information throughout the journey, addressing all of our inquiries.
Luci offered an exceptional tour, easily the best we've experienced. Her knowledge, passion for the Smoky Mountains, and caring nature made the trip unforgettable. With great communication, she shared intriguing details about the area's history, culture, and ecology. Luci truly went the extra mile to show us the highlights of the Smokies, turning the tour into a remarkable adventure. She is a true treasure—essential for an unforgettable experience. Don’t hesitate to book with her.
