Reviews
The narration was quite informative and well-timed. I would highly recommend this for anyone. It is also much more affordable compared to the guided tours.
The tour guide was knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. Having a narrator for the drive around Cades Cove added so much to our previous trips, offering insights into historical sites and natural highlights. It's important to follow the tour direction, as it’s not designed for spontaneous stops. We particularly appreciated learning about locations like the sinks. However, it would be beneficial to have additional information regarding the various buildings at the grist mill stop. Overall, it felt like a bonus experience.
This reasonably priced audio tour significantly enriched our experience with captivating stories and timely alerts about attractions. The drive from Sugarlands Welcome Center to the Cades Cove loop takes about an hour, and the audio helped pass the time with valuable background information. Expect the loop to take longer than anticipated, as it is one-way and can result in long vehicle lines. We spent a minimum of three hours in the loop during this busy October period, so it's wise to plan ahead. There are two crossroads in the loop that provide quicker exit options if necessary. Restrooms are available at the Sugarlands/Cades Cove visitor center and at the Grist mill stop within the loop. Traffic during the first week of October has been quite heavy, often causing stop-and-go conditions. While the park is stunning, be prepared for large crowds, traffic delays, and parking challenges.
This drive is truly amazing. The slow pace enhances the experience, allowing us to enjoy it fully. We even spotted a bear happily munching on sweet grass right next to a stone bridge, about 20 feet from our car.
Enhancing our drive, this experience truly comes alive with a multitude of fascinating stories and facts. The information is presented at just the right moments during the journey.
Make sure to spend time at the stops. It's definitely worthwhile. The cemeteries next to the churches were particularly fascinating.
Excellent value for the price! It was fantastic to tour at our own pace in our car while having our three dogs with us. The online payment process was also very simple.
An excellent tour filled with valuable insights. I highly recommend it. The ability to explore off the main path and seamlessly rejoin the tour was fantastic.
The audio often fell out of sync with the stops, and there were lengthy stretches with no narration. What we did hear was engaging, but it didn't always relate to our location.
This was a wonderful experience combining a rich history lesson with nature sightings, including many bears. I suggest going later in the day, and mid-May was an ideal time to visit.
