Our hiking experience with Vikash was incredible. The waterfalls are breathtaking, and Vikash guided us safely while also being friendly and humorous. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a quality alternative to the typical mainstream options.
Kavi was our driver for the day, and he did an excellent job, sharing a wealth of knowledge about Mauritius' history during our travels. Ken, our tour guide, was fantastic—friendly and well-informed about the hiking area. The hike is not overly difficult but includes some steep sections on the descent and about five minutes of steep climbing on the return. Ken was very patient, ensuring everyone's safety, and took many great photos of us. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend it to many, especially if you have Kavi or Ken as your driver or guide. Thank you.
The hike took us to stunning locations, though the level of difficulty shouldn't be overlooked. There was significant climbing and some areas were slippery, so expect to get muddy and wet feet. The largest waterfall was quite busy, which was disappointing, but still a lovely sight. Additionally, having small fish “massage” your feet at one of the earlier waterfalls was a delightful experience. Make sure not to skip it. However, the tour was not as ‘private’ as I had anticipated. We booked it just for my wife and me, and our transfer was exclusive, but we found four others waiting along with two guides at the starting point. While the other participants were pleasant and the guides friendly, the expectation of only our group wasn't met. We had initially booked as a pair but ended up in a tour of six with two guides. Despite this mix-up, it was a valuable and enjoyable experience. I would recommend it.
I had an excellent day hiking with my guide, Richi. From hotel pickup to drop-off, he prioritized my safety and enjoyment. We explored the 7 waterfalls and learned about local flora. In the afternoon, we climbed Le Pouce, always taking safe routes and maintaining a pace that suited me with plenty of rest breaks. I highly recommend this company for hiking in Mauritius, and if you have the chance to get Richi, your experience will be perfect.
Upon reaching the start point of the "7 waterfalls" — a small narrow bridge — we bypassed the crowded parking lot where buses and makeshift guides were present. Vikash persuaded us to let him guide us, alongside a colleague knowledgeable about local plants. Vikash was a strong leader, ensuring our safety on a hike that turned out to be more challenging than we anticipated, involving muddy and slippery paths and steep inclines. Although Vikash mentioned there are actually 12 falls instead of 7, he suggested stopping at a number that matched our desires and physical capabilities. We enjoyed 5 falls over 2 hours, which was fantastic. Vikash brought us behind the falls and to the edge of the stunning drops, offering opportunities to swim or even jump. He also captured videos and photos with our cameras, creating unforgettable memories. Vikash shared amusing anecdotes that enhanced our experience. We highly recommend this adventure for its safety and the memorable moments we created in our minds and photos.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day! Everything was organized smoothly, and communication was seamless. Our guide was fantastic—kind, friendly, humorous, and attentive to all our needs. The jump from the waterfall with our daughter was especially fun. Highly recommended.
Viskash was fantastic, offering insights into Mauritian culture and providing safe transportation to and from our hotel with great flexibility. Our hiking guide, Richi, was superb—supportive and knowledgeable throughout the hike and prioritized everyone’s safety, even taking time to assist those who needed it. Afterward, we enjoyed a delightful meal at the authentic Indo-Mauritian restaurant, Ebony Table D'Hote.
Vikash proved to be an excellent guide during our visit to the five waterfall trek. Given that it was one of our first treks, he supported my wife every step of the way. His approach was both firm and compassionate, ensuring we navigated the challenging and slippery terrain successfully. He was prompt, responsive, and highly skilled. I would definitely recommend him for any trekking adventures in Mauritius.
The tour was excellent. We experienced stunning waterfalls and encountered fascinating plants and animals. Our guide, Sanjeev, was attentive and allowed us to walk at our own pace. He even brought snacks from home. It was the perfect way to end our time in Mauritius.
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning tour. The pick-up and drop-off were seamless thanks to our two friendly and informative drivers, who shared insights about Mauritian history and made additional stops at interesting sites. Our hiking guide was invaluable, navigating along the partially hidden trails and providing useful tips for the more challenging sections. The waterfalls were stunning, and Manish was always eager to explain and capture beautiful moments for us. If you need a guide and a photographer, he's the perfect choice. We even took a refreshing dip in a natural pool beneath a waterfall, with options to jump from heights of 6m or 10m into deep waters. All in all, it was an excellent half-day experience that we highly recommend.
