The team was incredibly accommodating and communicative. Being seven months pregnant on my honeymoon, we required a customized version of the tour to ensure I wouldn’t get too fatigued and could take breaks as needed. The communication was excellent, and our driver was friendly and kind. We had a comfortable experience visiting the key sites we wanted to see.
The scenery in South Mauritius is stunning! The Ship shop offered excellent souvenirs, and the diamond shop thrilled my partner. The rum and food were both delightful, and ending the trip at the large waterfalls and the seven colored earth was breathtaking.
We participated in two tours, one to Deer Island and another in southern Mauritius, both led by our guide Aktar. The southern tour was particularly excellent. We maximized our time, experienced all the highlights, and received a wealth of information throughout. Aktar was consistently attentive, courteous, and helpful, embodying a truly wonderful human spirit, ensuring we felt well cared for.
I booked this tour and found there was a lot of uncertainty regarding which entrance fees were included. I ended up paying for the admission to 7 Colors despite it stating otherwise. Fortunately, the guide Keshav resolved the issue with the manager. Keshav was the highlight of the tour: he was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. His driving skills were impressive, especially on those winding roads, and he provided thorough explanations. The tour included beautiful waterfalls and scenic beach views. The 7 Colors eco area was nice, though a bit touristy. Overall, it was a good day, thanks to an outstanding guide.
We had previously visited Mauritius and anticipated seeing some familiar sites along with a few new ones, but this tour exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Reaz, was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of his homeland. Although Rod and I had been to Mauritius before, there was another member in our group for whom many experiences felt entirely new. Unfortunately, Chamarel was closed during our visit, and the rain made it difficult to see the colorful volcanic rocks—something to consider for a future trip. The scenery was breathtaking throughout the day, featuring lush landscapes in pristine condition. We made a stop at a beautiful Hindu temple perched on a hill, adorned with vibrant statues, which was truly captivating. Reaz also included a visit to a tea plantation for tastings that were interesting and quite affordable—we were pleased we didn’t miss it. The tour encompassed stunning waterfalls, playful monkeys, awe-inspiring viewpoints, and a lovely beachside lunch before we returned to our hotel. Overall, it was a perfectly seamless tour made memorable by our wonderful guide, and I highly recommend it.
